Re: Whos our starting PG next season?
Let me state the obvious... Shannon would be a young, cheap, hard working, big guard that the Lakers need. He follows direction properly, and is not afraid of the moment. So it is imperative that the Lakers not only sign him.. but maximise the potential in him. Sad to say, but after one season, Im already mentally backing him up more than I do Farmar. Farmar just seems to want to be flashy, and thus gets sloppy... instead of brown who has been known to be spectacular... while all the type attempting to stick with the program.
Plus, havin a line up of Brown - KB - Artest - Gasol - Bynum would not only be a big line-up, but a solid one on D.
Not saying he should be a starter.. just saying that for petty cash, he can prove to be very effective with these Lakers.
Fisher I think is getting older than the Lakers want to admit.. and while he will surely be instrumental in the playoffs.. in order for him to be, he should be fresh. So I think even if he 'starts' I think the bulk of the minutes should go to Brown (if picked up) or to a guard aquired via trade.
