Default Could've been HOF'ers

I just feel like giving some props to some players that had great careers ahead of them... But were hit with injuries.

Penny Hardaway - flashy, too big for PGs, too fast for SGs, 20 ppg and 5 ast on over 50% shooting 2 years straight, knee injuries took him out.

Grant Hill - a triple double machine, great all around player, thanks to ankle injuries we never saw what could've been.

Larry Johnson - very intense, 6'7" 240 pound PF, explosive, entertaining, 20-10 player, back issues took him down.

Antonio McDyess - absolutely vicious, insane explosiveness, 42" standing vert, athletic 20-10 guy whose knees went.

Post some more players that could've been all time greats...

Arvydas Sabonis, not really because of injuries, but because he didn't play in the NBA during his prime. but he would've dominated had he when he was first drafted.

Good call on Daugherty. He was a really great player for a while. Excellent low post scorer, one of the best passing big man, solid rebounder, capable shooter and Daugherty and Price ran the pick and roll to perfection.

But injuries didn't prevent Kemp from being a hall of famer. Work ethic did.

I defintley agree with Penny and Grant and possibly LJ and Mcdyess as well. but Penny was the guy out of them that showed he was a true winner. He had it all, skills, athleticism, great size, he was clutch and he was unselfish. Hill was one of those guys that filled the boxscores like Magic and Bird, and was one of the rare guys who possessed that type of court vision at that size. Hill was also a great athlete and a smooth player with excellent fundamentals. I loved his crossover and that mid-range jumper. One of the best rebounding SF ever too. McDyess was like Amare Stoudemire before the injuries, except unlike Stoudemire he actually made the effort to rebound and play defense.

But I'll add Ralph Sampson, Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady to the list.

If Lenny Cooke wouldn't of had the maturity and IQ of a toddler, he would of been battling LeBron for years to come.

Another guy that I feel could have been a HOF is if Kwame Brown would have been a Top 10 pick in '03 instead of the 1st pick in '01.
