Default Extension Being Offered To Kaman:

Quote:
The Clippers are expected to make a formal contract extension offer to Kaman's agent this month.

Based on recent contracts signed by centers with comparable statistics, Kaman could receive as much as $10 million to $12 million a season.

10-12 Mil for Kaman? That's a no-no.

Thumbs up Extension to KAveman is a YES/YES

The Clips have to commit to going over the cap to be a contender
for the Trophy for the next 5 years. The Kaveman has improved
every year and is a dependable sidekick to EB inside. 15 and 10 a
season is worth $10 mil a year for the next 5. As is giving Mike Sr
$4-5 mil a year for the next 5 with a plan to promote him to GM
and give Sammy the job as coach after being asst coach for
a year after he retires. Call it the Avery Johnson blue print.
Also, if Livingstick lives up to his hyped potential this year, we
extend him too.

Talking No Agreement reached yet but a solid offer

and Q Rich you are premature in your 2nd repeat post of your own thread here.
The Clips behind the after christmas new Donald T Sterling have made
Kaveman a 5yr 50 mil extension offer starting at 8.5 mil/yr. Very fair
and solid offer to Kaveman. Only the extension of Dun Sr could hold this
up. Kaveman's "second Pop" Asst Coach Kim Hughes is also another
positive factor in him reupping.

Props to the defacto (look this up in wikipedia for all you illiterati
who dont know what I speak) GM Dun Sr and to Donald T for listening
to his basketball people over "Irwin the accountant cuzz your killing me
Larry" VP Andy Roeser.

Next up Stanley the Stick, next year and we are set.
Very proactive front office moves by the Clips. I am impressed.

minimum.

I disagree, I actually like Mihm's work ethic. I do think 50 million is too much to offer Kaman but it does'nt look like he is going to accept it anyway. From what I have read in the news papers is, he feels he deserves to be paid a little more than Chandler and Dalbert. I think it is around 1-2 million average more per year. If we commit to that we will not be able to offer Livingston an extension without going over the cap. In my opinion if Kaman does'nt want to play here let him go and bring on Big Sofo. I think he is walking away from a whole lot of money and should understand getting a little more money does'nt equate to play-offs or even a championship. I really do like Kaman but I don't think he is making the right decision.

Good Post!!!

However let me add that u might end up keeping Kaman because you might not find another team thats going to average him the same amount. So not only would he stay with LA but they can go a little lower than 10 million per year also, depending on what other teams are averaging.

Kaman is a very good center and there arent many of them. So its not like he can be replaced either.

Livingston will be a top 8 pg one day and hes a great quick scorer as well as the "facilitator" in this clippers offense.

He is learning from the best (sam cassel) who also had the same impact on steve nash.
