Sterling changing his ways? Dont make me laugh please.
He has alot of ways to change (prostitutes, discrimination lawsuits etc) but giving 42 mil to Mobley, 13 to Sam, 25 to Tim & 50 to Kaman, not to mention the 86 million to EB and 42 million to Corey to years previous shows a marked change for an owner who had never even signed a significant free agent before that.
Kaman is a 10 mil post player, if not he'll be one this year or next. He plays solid defense, has post moves, rebounds, does the little things, works real hard on and off the court. He'll have a couple years of 16/11 I bet when he's 28-30.
That's worth 10 mill to me not even considering inflated salries for other junk players.

If he dishes out cash the next 5yrs? Fine, but throwing a lil change out there isnt saying to me he has changed.
For guys of Kaman's skill set, he's being offer the going market rate. I've been watching Kaman ever since he became a Clipper, and while he was the physically skills to play the game, the biggest problems is at times (epsecially crucial times), he gets mentally lost out on the court. Having Cassell staying on his case all the time has certainly helped his progress.
Kaman is the most underrated big man in the league (not a joke). What were his numbers last year? Don't forget he plays on a team "heist" (elton, sam, maggette, mobley) he's at best the 5th option.
actually, Toronto would be damn scary with him to go along With bosh and Barg behind them and peterson and TJ. Thats a solid lineup. Him and Bosh would be a great foundation along with Barg.
He can get more than that on the open market. it's not like dallas low-balling josh howard but it's still lowballing. Proven big men like him should make more than the bust Eddy Curry does. Just by inflation alone! Let alone for his proven track record.
