Default Training Camp Conditioning Test (Oden kicks butt)

http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindbla...yer_fails.html

Good read. Steve Blake broke the team record, while Andre Miller is the only player with a guaranteed contract to fail the test. Strange to think that Andre Miller is the player that is suppose to increase our tempo. Meanwhile, Oden tied for the 2nd fastest time on the team. Reports like this remind me of when he first was drafted and his combine numbers were just shocking for a guy his size. Though, my concern is not just how fast he can move, but how fast he can move throughout the course of a game. Still, encouraging to hear.

I read that article - good news regarding Oden, Outlaw and Blake....I'm not too concerned about Miller though......who do YOU prefer to start at PG???

Miller or Blake?????

All depends on fit. Though, we know what Blake will bring to this team, so I hope that Miller starts, because that means he brings something more important.

I read that he was in town, was supposed to see a doctor regarding his foot - read that he's waiting for a doctor to give the okay to quit wearing the foot boot he's been in for awhile. I'm hoping that we can hold on to his rights, but I've also read that he's dead-set on playing in the NBA and not displaying much interest in playing overseas or in any development league - I don't see him making our 15 man roster over either Udoka or Collins (not with Miller, Blake and Bayless already on the roster with contracts....not to mention that Roy and Fernandez are above-average ball handlers at the SG position.

Just spotted this on line:

Trail Blazers note: Patty Mills update
By Joe Freeman, The Oregonian
October 02, 2009, 11:34AM
Quick update on Patty Mills:

Doctors examined the second-round draft pick’s recovering right foot Thursday and discovered that he was progressing well, but stopped short of allowing him to remove his protective boot.

However, doctors said the Blazers could wean Mills off of the boot over the next two weeks. There is still no timetable for his return.

Mills fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the Blazers’ second Summer League practice in July, just after they selected him with the 55th pick in the NBA draft. He had surgery on July 13 and was rehabilitating in his native Australia until he traveled to Portland on Wednesday to see team doctors.
