Yi's offseason.
thanks to umberto at nets daily!
...
some gifs from game 1 (china-australia) taken from Chinese forum:
The improved body control, quick layup and he still managed to change course..,.and it actually went in
The "standard" Yi's charge (this one was good though)
The not-so-fluid left hook, still managed to put into the basket. Amazing, I actually expected it to be an uncontrolled ugly throw:
3-step lightning slam:
one of the clean blocks:
EDIT: you guys know how to blow these up to see more detail, right?

Re: Yi's offseason.
Hes definitely looking better offensively but I wouldnt get to excited. After all it was against an Australian team without Bogut.
We'll just have to wait for October 28

Re: Yi's offseason.
He's a much better player when he's confident. Hopefully he brings that to the table this year.

Re: Yi's offseason.
Looks like Yi packed on some guns and he looks very confident. Although i did bash him in the past... i hope that he can help the NETS this year.

(Though Joe the popcorn guy was MVP last year)

Re: Yi's offseason.
hey, i know this has to be taken with a grain of salt, but if we were asked before this offseason what we wanted yi to accomplish, he's pretty much done it all- bulked up, worked on his decision-making / skills, and shown success in games.
coming up are three games in three days to further measure the young man. from the latest article:
Quote:
He's running the floor, dunking the ball on fast breaks, hitting long shots, making assists, rebounding and anchoring China's defence.
Yi Jianlian, 21 years old and 2.13 metres (seven-foot) tall, is coming of age at the ongoing Asian Basketball Championships, replacing the iconic but injured Yao Ming as the core player on Team China.
In six unbeaten matches, Yi is leading China with 18.5 points per game, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots and is second on the team in assists with 2.7 per match.
