the raptor commentators repeatedly said this season that villa is the best passing big man we've ever had. now i know i should listen to everything they say and the raps haven't really had to many passing big men (if any at all), but saying the tells you he's good at something other than scoring.

Okay........but Boris is proven to be good at a lot of things. He's a triple double threat regularly. He plays good (but not great) defense. Adequate shooter. Great length. Good ball handler. Great feel for the game.
If Villa ends up better than Boris Diaw, Toronto or whatever team he ends up with will have an multiple time All-Star.
Ha raptors should trade magloire and mo williams for villy and mo pete
Awful AWFUL deal. The Raptors trade 2 of their better players for 2 guys who will be free agents after next year and one of them is grossly overrated and will be looking for a huge deal.
A terrible deal for a team that's still rebuilding.
Raptors fans are going nuts with Villy's value. He scored 13 points on one of the worst teams in the league while playing no defense, and all the sudden he can only be traded for all stars? Sorry Kwaj.
you forgot to mention that as a starter, he averaged 17 and 8. oh, and he rang up 48 against your beloved Bucks.
Might just be me but the NBA and its fans seem overly obsessed with meassurements. Especially when you consider how many stars don't fit the stereotypes.
Shaq is too fat
KG is too skinny
AI is too short
Big Ben is too short
Brand is too short
etc...
The thing is, all these guys have attributes that make up for those physical shortcomings.
Shaq is WAY quick for a guy his size and has soft touch around the hoop.
Garnett plays the game in such a way that he doesn't need a lot of bulk.
Iverson is freaking amazingly fast, and he's also playing point guard a lot of the time, if not all the time. No problem with his size at that position.
Both Wallace and Brand, especially Brand, have freakishly long arms, even by NBA standards.
Ty Thomas, even without perimeter skills, could make it if he plays with Wallace/Rodman style hustle. A great athlete that works hard on d normally can be a great defender.
wtf johnnysic, ty thomas is suited to play the 3? maybe after he starts showing a consistent ANYTHING on the perimeter, i'll believe you.
the only way ty thomas succeeds in this league is if he can become a smarter, driven, stro swift.... other than that? he's going to get pushed around on the block... might get a couple swats here and there... i really can't think of anything else. what does this guy do consistently besides block and dunk?
