Well guys, I still bet Turkoglu will opt out. Also, Marcin Gortat, Anthony Johnson and Tyronn Lue are free agents.
I want to re-sign Marcin Gortat and I'd love to re-sign Turkoglu (if he opts out), but we'll have to see how much they want and realistically I don't think we'll get Turkoglu back if he really thinks he's worth $55 million over 5 years.
As for AJ and Tyronn Lue, they're definitely fine to leave in my book as long as Rafer Alston is ok with being a backup PG. Maybe keep one of them if necessary as a reserve PG.
Who is going to fill out the Magic bench this year?Looks like Gortat is going to Houston. If they sign Rasheed Wallace they will probably have to move Lewis to SF...dont think Wallace wouldnt be happy with 20-25 minutes off the bench. The rest of the free agent market for big men is pretty thin...McDyess,Zaza Pachulia and Drew Gooden seem to be the best of what's out there.Ryan Anderson played pretty well at times last year for the Nets, but I dont know if the magic will use him at center.Definitely need a 3rd PG,maybe an undrafted FA or bring Lue back.Maybe we can lure Grant Hill or Matt Barnes to be our 6th man we need another SG/SF...hope the starting 5 stays healthy this year.
I think we should go after Rasheed and see where that gets us. But first we're still waiting to see if Turkoglu is going to come back or not (I bet he probably won't).
But as of right now our starting lineup looks like this:
Out:
Hedo Turkoglu (FA)
Courtney Lee (Trade)
Rafer Alston (Trade)
Tony Battie (Trade)
In:
Vince Carter (Trade)
Brandon Bass (FA) (4 years, 18 million, approx 4.5 million a year)
Matt Barnes (FA) (2 year, 3.6 million, approx 1.8 million a year) Note: I think the second year is a player option.
Ryan Anderson (Trade)
Retained Free Agents:
Marcin Gortat (5 years, 34 million, approx 6.8 million a year)
