Imagine a guy like David Stern running baseball. Ughh. The Yankees would be in the World Series EVERY year. You'd see guys like A-Rod getting obvious strike calls called as balls or foul balls hit on the outside of the foul pole called as home runs.

I dont see how David Stern running baseball and the Yankees being in the WS every year goes together. Drop the crack pipe and blame Irvin before you get caught.

That's true. I frickin' love guys like Reyes and Delgado, so I wanted the win for them. I love Glavine, too, even though he's had his fair share of winning.

Wainwright was awesome at the end of the game, though.

Mets/Tigers would have been more competitive and interesting. Might've gone a good 6 games.

Instead, we get a snooze fest and Tigers in 4.

Amazing how bad the NL is for these Cardinals to make it through. Look for the third straight sweep of NL, hopefully it gets better from here because it can't be much worse.

Tigers should win, as they have all the matchup advantages, but this isn't basketball where upsets are rare. All it takes is a couple of starting pitchers for St. Louis to get hot, or have a couple of the tigers pitchers blow up.

No one expected the Dbacks to beat the Yankees either. What happened?

They had the two most dominating pitchers in all of baseball though. Schilling was lights out throughout the playoffs. Johnson was a 24 game winner and won 3 of the 4 games that series.

Yeah, the Diamondbacks probably should have won it easily, but Byong-Yung-Walkoff couldn't handle the pressure.

Yeah, but no one gave them a chance still. It was all Yankees. DBacks winning wouldnt have been the story it was if it wasnt pro yankee that year.

Just saying, not comparing either teams here. The sweep talks, guranteed WS win. Easy series stuff should be held off. Anything can happen regardless who should win. We've been down this road before. Detroit wasnt supposed to even be in the WS because the Yankees were supposed to be there with the Mets. Go figure. I think Detroit will win it, just the better team and they do little things more than their opponents so far. But I damn sure wont be saying this is easy, sweep etc etc. Nah

Kenny Rogers of old can ALWAYS show up you know.
