Default Coro's Blog: The New Suns

Quote:
All of the new Suns already have arrived in Phoenix now that Channing Frye took part in his first informal workout today.

Frye took to the US Airways Center practice court with fellow newcomers, rookies Earl Clark and Taylor Griffin, as well as returning Suns players Grant Hill, Alando Tucker and Jared Dudley. Dudley, who had been working out at Joe Abunassar's academy in Las Vegas, joined the workouts with Suns assistants Dan Majerle and John Shumate on Wednesday.

Frye is coming straight off a honeymoon in Bora Bora. He got in town Wednesday night and was at the gym Wednesday morning with plans of returning for a night shooting session.

Dudley is looking lean, a process that began last season when he started the "Nash diet." He was confidently hitting 3-point shots (and not just from the corner). He already was becoming a consistent perimeter shooter, an added forte to the defense, court intelligence and effort he always brings.

Clark is getting into "Suns shape," a different kind of conditioning for the way they play. But the early Suns talk about him not playing right away and having to earn minutes is going to be tough to follow. He is so skilled and long that it's hard to not see him as an instant contributor, particularly on a team with only three players taller than him.

We have hair updates too. Lou Amundson has a bearded look going. Or maybe he just hasn't shaven. And Hill's hair is growing out a bit, inspiring our hopes that he will bring back the Kid N' Play high-top fade of yesteryear:
