It's either Hook Mitchell or Pee Wee kirkland.

Hook was crazy as **** though. He grew up with Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Brian Shaw, and a couple other future NBAb'ers and they all say that Hook was better than all of them. They say he was the best player to never make it to the league. He had to serve a 5 year bid due to drugs. But dude was crazy, bouncy as hell. He was 5'8" and could jump over a car and dunk it.

this is a documentary made about him, its a really great movie.

In NYC people can sayin that it was Goat, who was chose #1 at the list of the top streetballers of all times by SLAM. He has only 6'1" but was able to touch top of the backboard and take off the money. He play in Original Rucker league against NBA legends, like Wilt Chamberlain, Lew Alcindor aka Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Connie Hawkins ... he was great athlete with crazy hoops but unfortunately the same sad story - drugs.

What about Hammond he also play against NBA legends like Julius Erving, Nate Archibald, Charlie Scott ... He even scored 50 on Julius Erving only in one half of the game because he was late.

Pee Wee made crossovers long before NBA discover that move. He also play againt the best NBA players of his era. But he was also King Of Harlem and earn a lot of money from drugs, lot more than he can earn in that time in NBA thats why he reject Bulls contract, the same as Hammond from Lakers.

urban legend. james white's got crazy hops too and has atleast 7 inches of height on earl the goat, and he could barely touch 13 ft.. if anyone could have done that or could do it, i'd give it to wilt chamberlain or dwight howard.

Goat's HS friend searching another hoopers who can do this I mean touching top of the backboard.... and he find few like for example Doug Thomas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXY9_2yb6GA

You know hoops and dunks are still developing. What wasn't possible then is possible now. So comparing old dunkers from the past era with today's is no too good because it's natural that today's dunkers will be better. The make better dunks that decade or even 2 decades ago. We should only compare pure jump not dunks because dunkers from the past always lose.

What about Sizzle ? He's an entertainer and he knows it. Many today's streetballers haven't too good fundamentals but in the past they (like Goat, Hammond, Fly, Helicopter Knowings, Phantom ...) play almost pure fundamental that's why they win with NBA players for example in the Rucker, 4th West or other streetball leagues.

That's a tough decision, because all the evidence of their games is in peoples memories.
Like GOAT grabbing dollars off backboards
Destroyer being late for a matchup with Erving, and still dropping 50 on him. again, stories of Phanton are also just stories. If everything people say is correct he'd be probably the best to never go to the NBA.

Of course JKidd and Payton always say that Hook was the best out of Oakland. But he didn't play that long, he was very young until he started doing drugs, and he lost his feel for the game.

there is no picking the best out of these guys. All must have been amazing players, and their primes were waaaay before I was born (Hook not included).

I would also throw in Nate 'The Skate' Archibald, Wilt Chamberlain and Julius Erving. They made Rucker basketball famous.

And finally, do not forget about Rafer 'Skip 2 My Lou' Alston. Even tho he isn't really good in the NBA, he was an amazing streetballer. As a little kid he scared adult men who tried to guard him. He made streetball famous (along with AND1) all over the world. The inventor of playing around with people during pick up games. Of course players like Hot Sauce have done this, but they were influenced by Skip's game.

Story is true, Doc said it himself, although he did downplay the 50 to 40ish.

it is still an amazing accomplishment. There arent many players in basketball history who have outplayed the Doc in a game. Imagine how talented guys like Goat and Destroyer must have been.
Its a shame how these legends ended playing so early because of trouble. Both could have been amazing ballplayers in the League.
Unfortunately there arent any videos of them. Would love to actually see footage of them after hearing all these stories.
