Default David Lee

Seems like the latest word is that Lee may be coming back to the Knicks for the 1 yr. deal and then free agency he goes.

First let me get something straight....I do like David Lee.

He is a nice guy, has improved every year, but IMO, has reached his ceiling.

What you see is what you guy.

A guy that can be a very solid backup.

Being on the Knicks where your average big doesn't get more than 5 boards a game, kinda boosts up stats for a guy like Lee.

Now he did have the most double-doubles in the League.

That's very nice, but just remember who was second...Dwight Howard.

That's where the stats seem to be vastly over rated.

Lee has awful man to man and interior defense.

Dwight is a beast in that area. And gets the stats on top of it.

Here is something else to look at......

Take most of the other teams in the League...

I do think they already have a starting PF or even have reserves who are better PF's than Lee currently on their teams.

I'm looking strictly from an offense and defense perspective. Basically what the player does on both ends of the court.

But like I have said before, Lee is a nice player to have.

Just not what he thinks he's worth and the League has agreed.

Lee isnt getting paid what HE WANTS but that isnt indicative of his ability or value... He just priced himself too high as a restricted FA when most teams are looking for cap space for 2010 and the ones that had the room had a better option on the team already.

You paint the picture like Lee is absolutely a scrub and he thinks he's jordan....

I aint a fan of his but he is needed on the Knicks this year. The lets you know how bad the Knicks are that a Lee is NEEDED!

Do you think that D Lee is thinking playing ANY kind of defense, is over-rated now? I don't think he's hit his ceiling yet as long as he REALLY TRIES to add defense to his game. I hope he gets this idea of defense, it HAS to be played, and take pride in yourself about it. That would take him to the next level. If he doesn't get it, he is a moron. (I like him also.)

Lee did try to play D-Fense but I really dont know how dedicated he is to improve in that area! He didnt play D' in college or in the Pro's but people want him to be Dennis Rodman or something? lol
I dont know why he looks so weak and stiff as far as physical tools but on offense he is more agile... I guess if he wants that big bank next year I hope he did some serious training and learning during the offseason to improve is overall value!

I feel the same about Duhon too.

I really can't think of any teams that if they had Lee in the starting line-up they would improve.

Which for the life of me I could not understand most of the sign-trade rumors.

Portland wasn't gonna pay Lee to ride pine.

Neither was Utah.

I can truly say that Lee's best and maybe only situation may be with the Knicks.

Name me some teams that would put Lee in their starting line-up.

I can't think of maybe two....NJ and Miami.

Bano can vouch for me,I've been sayin I like Lee but he's reached his ceiling. He hyped himself up to think he was worth more than he really is.We did the right thing signing him for a year but I doubt we can pull it off again so enjoy him while he lasts.

Franchize, are you agreeing with me again???

Or was I agreeing with you???

But seriously, Lee isn't a bad guy.

He is just a bench player who really isn't all that spectacular.

Honestly when Lee is on the floor the team usually falls behind due to the high lack of defense.

He would not start on anyone's contending team, and most likely would not be starting on a team who wants to make the playoffs or has pride in defense.

He is what he is.....a few give and go points and some rebounds on a team who doesn't have quality rebounders

weirdly enough, nate's arrest was the best thing to happen to us in a while. when you think about it,it wasnt that big of a deal yet we have a legitimate reason to considerably lower his askin price.
