That's horrible. He and Herb saved the franchise, and from what I understand, maybe even the entire city of Indianapolis, at least from being a nowheresville state capital. Remember when Union Station was the coolest place ever (at least to the 8 year old me)? Circle Center as well, the Simons played huge parts in those. Those revitalized downtown, made it somewhere people may actually go to instead of leave.

Check this Indy Star link for a lot of the amazing things he did.

There are future of the franchise type things this makes me curious about, but those're for another time.

Yeah, I have also read a few articles on the internet about how him and his brothers really helped not just the Pacers but the whole city of Indianapolis.
