If you are flying one of those unmanned aircrafts, you wont be in harms way.

I have a friend stationed in Montana right now. Seems to be working out well for him. I have a lot of friends now that are saying to themselves "Hey I'm 22, not going to school, and don't have any sort of prospects for a job" so they are looking into the military.

Couple of my friends scored high on some test they give you to place you in a possible field. One scored really high, but due to his horrible credit they said they can't give him any of the good jobs so he'll have to settle for cook or an infantry position. Forgot what branch that was but he's still looking around trying to work something out.

That's a demanding job, but if it is what you want go talk to a recruiter about it. Don't come in open general for sure or you'll have to luck out to get a good job.

I just got out a little over a year and a half ago. It's really what you make of it, and hopefully you get a decent base right out the gate.

QFT!

unless you don't mind being a cop. I picked cop and it's not all that bad but I met A LOT of people that went open general thinking that they'd get what they wanted and ended up being cops instead...
