"After watching the 7-foot, 260-pound Greg Oden, Fraschilla decided there were no modern comparisons. "From the mid-'70s on, I've seen all the guys. Shaq. Ralph Sampson. Alonzo Mourning. He's the best," Fraschilla said of (Greg Oden), the Star's 2006 Marion County Male Athlete of the Year. "I think defensively, he can hold his own right now in the NBA, and offensively, he's going to get tip dunks and the close-in shots, run the floor, get points that way. And that's before all the work on his post game really starts to kick in."

Thats high praise, although the source isnt the best in fraschilla.
but oden will be a monster and the best true center since shaq and the best one for years to come more than likely. he is a freak, 7 ft tall, athletic as anyone in the NBA and hasnt even started to work on his post game with NBA coaches yet.
If the hawks suck next year, and the suns get the first overall pick, how scary will they be in a couple of years, if their main core stays in tack, with:
Get some ****ing post moves, preferably to a McHale-ish level, then we'll talk
the kids still in high school... im sure you said the same about lebron and a jumpshot. im pretty sure a few solid post moves can develop at ohio state and whaerever he lands in the league. the kids a beast, and wellneeded as true solid big men are a dying breed.

When you add two bigs to the lineup and put marion at three. You are much slower and your spacing isn’t the same and shooting is way worse from the permeter. I also think such a style of play would make Nash less Effective. They could be a better team but I think they would be worse if they slowed down with that lineup. Amare would have trouble scoring without the floor spaced for his pick and rolls and new found lack of athletism. Nash will also have trouble playing with a traditional lineup, and would show us all he can only be effective in one style.
my view on oden is he's going to tear the big ten apart. afterall, we all know real hoops are played in the big 10. that's why you gonna see dee brown take the league by strom next season as an insane unknown.
oden might just be better than shaq. he's like bron was coming into the league, but a big man.
