I think he got bad advice from his agent. It might change if he has a stellar year but right now I don't see any team paying him more than that.

I would have thought he'd have signed it as well...but in not signing it I don't think he messed up. 7 million over 6 years is right at the full MLE and if worse comes to worst he'll get the same offer from some team next season. There's like 11-14 teams that'll have enough cap space to offer up a max deal...only there will only be at best 2 top FAs available.

If it's true then I'm mightly surprised...but I have doubts that it's true.

I don't get it...most of these guys grew up in less than average conditions, and now they're turning down 40+ million dollars? I'd take 40+ million to play ball no matter what the circumstances were.

When your agent is getting 10-15%, he wants every last dollar he can get.

Real estate agents do the "best" they can to pursuade the seller to lower the asking price to increase the chance of selling the property.

Apparently, one or both of Felton and Felton's agent don't want easy money.
Wait and see next's year's starting offer to be around $5 mil over 3 yrs ith a team option. Big market teams won't spend much (possibly no) money on mediocre players.
