We phoned the in-laws back in Trinidad and its not Eid there. Even in the Canada there is controversy as to if Eid should have been today or tomorrow.

I like Eid. My mom makes Backlava and Halal (The brown stuff and I think that's what it's called). I don't care much for the Halal, but eating Backlava with a cup of milk is awesome.

Oh ye, Happy Ramadam to my muslim brothers.

Wierd.. but basically it's you embrace everybody for what they accomplished for the previous month of Ramadan, eat heartily, and exchange cash as gifts. Similar to Christmas concretely, somewhat.. but completely different ideals.

I was thinking the same thing, but halwa is usually tan/orangish but i get it could be darker depending on how its cooked
