Default Nazr Drops 16 in Debut

Nazr had something like 16 pts, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals today in our preseason game vs. the Heat. Now this isn't really anything to get too excited about because its the preseason but it did demonstrate Nazr's ability to score. He was filling it up down low and he even knocked down a jumper or two.

Whether or not the Heat were really trying, it fueled my optimism for this season. Nazr looked great even though hes been fasting for Ramadan, and Murray, McDyess, and Delfino were solid off the bench. Jason Maxiel also showed some skill.

The biggest thing about Nazr was that he doesn't look "afraid" to shoot. And confidence is key for a player to be effective on offense. However, most of the game he was being guarded by Earl Barron, who is terrible.

I still love Ben, but I won't miss any of those 15 foot air balls he had after staring at the hoop for three seconds when he was wide open. Or his fade aways that he made about 10 percent of the time.

there was no bull bashing. and its not like we went out of our way to talk about the negetive aspects of ben's game either.

if it makes you feel better, we'll miss the rebounding and irreplaceable defensive presence.

I wasn't knocking on Ben either.
Just saying it'll be nice not to cringe every time our center tries to score with a man guarding him or from more than 10 ft. from the hoop.

i dont know about you but I cringed within 5 feet. Actually I just cringed when he got the ball. especially at the FT line in close games.

like i say ben's a great player but a bad fit for a flip saunders team IMO.

Pistons will be a offensive team this year. Unlike two years ago with that dominating dfensive team.

Nazr is just one of those players that seems to have bloomed later on in his career as opposed to earlier on, good pickup.

I know the preseason isn't that important for most players, but for teams with radically different lineups its a time to test the roles and team chemistry. for ben wallace, nazr mohammed, and jason maxiel this is no regular preseason.
