It's been a long time since I've read Marvel comics and those pictures have left me intrigued. I vaguely remember what happened in the animated cartoon and I would like to get an update on what's happened.
Those pictures look good and I've heard good things about many comics like New Xmen, avengers, ww hulk, etc.
So what should I start reading if I wanna get updated on those crossovers and all those story lines that lead to those pictures you guys posted? Cause they look very current, and I only remember the comics from the old times and I would like to catch up a little.
I knwo this is a dumb question, but have to ask anyways since you know more about comics than I do.
Are graphic novels and comics the same thing, basically?
I know comics (at least the "old" ones) were made out of thinner paper than graphic novels these days. I was in Barnes and Noble today and was looking at their graphic novels and they had a good selection of X-men and Wolverine graphic novels (X-men related comics is really the only comic stuff I like).
Here's one of the graphic novels they had in the store that I thought about buying:
Graphic novels are compilations of single issues. Usually they cover at least one story arc.
true. but also not always. graphic novels can also be written as a single stand alone novel but Vapid is correct. most of the time they are compilations of storylines or mini series. they are also called "trades"
Sentry is Marvel's version of Superman, except he is mentally imbalanced. Dude has some sorta cosmic powers too now takin out molecular man.
there have been rumors that sentry will be revealed as really being marvelman or marvelman jr. Marvel finally acquired the rights to the character and their stories are kinda similar.
Dling is usually too annoying, but if I feel inclined I use demonoid. I visit scans_daily frequently as they post scans of recent issues, and I work next to Midtown comics so I go there after work sometimes.
isohunt is really good too if u dont have a demonoid acct.

I think those rumors have been debunked, something abotu how marvelman is going to have his own ongoing and it mgiht be outside of the main universe.
Now that Ares is dead, Phobos is proably going to come in and turn Sentry against himself. Only way to really kill this stupid character now.

remember how phobos has to die first before he can be reborn as a true god? at first I thought this might be where that happens and then he and Ares can return from Hades together, but then I thought about it some more and realized Marvel probably won't wanna have this guy stuck as a 10 year old forever so I guess he will just die after they age him a bit. Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing Phobos lay the smack down on Sentry and truly, that's that's the only way you can beat him. It has to be through his head because he is on another level for everyone else physically.
