LAKER GAME 10/31
Suns hit their first 9 shots....Every starter with a bucket.

Stoudemire comes in hits his first 2 attempts.

Suns 32 points in 9 minutes

Nash 7 assists

Could it have started any better?

Noone will be able to keep up with Banks and Barbosa..That reserve backourt is nasty.

WTf??!!!!!

I'm so p.o'd at the team right now...i can't believe they lost to this team...without their worrysome players...

I'm so annoyed...this couldn't have started any better, couldn't have ended any worse

the problem i see is that when the suns are makin them, they get confident, and they don't hammer or take advantage of the run they have...wether it's out of fear, mercy, lazyness or cockyness i don't care..it's just frustrating cuz if it was that all the teams in the NBA were courteous enough to give you mercy points, then we'd win all the time but no...that's not how it works!!!

we better win the next one

My notes from the main board

Quote:
Wow, what a bummer of a night for me. I was waiting all day to watch that garbage.

Kudos to the Lakers. They really showed a lot tonight when they could've bagged it when they were down 19. They really absorbed a big blow there for a while, but they took the ball inside, and punished the Suns.

Awful game from the Suns. They really lost their energy and aggressiveness in the second quarter. I don't know where it went. They might've fallen into the "Lakers don't have their best player, so we can take them for granted" attitude. They really let me down on the defensive end. Layup after layup in the second half. Great game from Bynum, and Odom. I was impressed by Bynum. I'm curious to see him against some of the elite bigs of the league. It seemed too easy against the undersized frontline of the Suns.

Boris Diaw played like garbage. He looked out of shape and disinterested at times. We need to get much better play from him.

Nash - About what you'd expect. Solid game
Bell - Quiet, seemed not interested
Marion - Solid, but subpar for Marion
Diaw - Awful on both ends
Thomas - Had moments, but had no chance trying to guard Odom

Barbosa - About the only real bright spot for the Suns tonight
Banks - Had a good stretch in the fourth, other than that, not much impact
Amare - Had a good first 5 minutes, then a bad second half
Jones - Awful on both ends

Nothing really to be optimistic about. Sure it's one game, but you can already see the same problems occuring for the Suns again. No interior defense, and awful shooting stretches. Turnovers also killed us in this one. We'll see if they can turn it around tomorrow at home.

well its only the first game of the season, but if bynum keeps playing like that we may be witnessing the birth of the next great center for the lakers. the kid was pretty impressive.

could you imagine if odom had played the way he did last night, his entire career? when odom wants he is practically unguardable. I think magic had a great point last night, when kobe comes back Odom needs to continue being aggressive and not defer to kobe.

Im disappointed in the phoenix suns they had an amazing first quarter and had 3 bad quarters after that. and all this to a kobeless lakers team. but the two guys mentioned above really stepped up.

yeah i agree with all of you that said the lakers stepped up and had an amazing game against one of the supposed best (now i'm not so sure...after that game) teams in the league based on last season...

bynum was givin us trouble both ways defensively and offensively he was a force..

maurice evans seemed to be on his shot

and if lamar odom could play like that even when kobe comes back all limping and crippled and everything, they're going to go beyond what they did last season

Props to the lakers

now for the bad part

the suns...played without heart, without drive and with WAY too much confidence for a team that played the way they did last night.

I was so ticked off. I couldn't believe it...i even cut my trick-or-treating short to come and watch that trash of a game. I know that's harsh for only a first game but they were supposed to shut the lakers down early and kill them on the scoreboard...

i was watching and i was like wat the hell are they doing?!? they barely scored in the 3rd quarter and tried (unsuccessfully) to come back in the 4th...if they had hustled that much in the 3rd, we woulda still won

i hope to God that this team shapes up though...because if not, this season will be full of disappointment

I bet D'Antoni was pissed...

RAB: I agree with all your points...i waited all day to see it too

CLIPPER GAME:11/1

Shaky start 3-10, got it going when Barbosa came on..He looks great

Amare looking much better

Stevie tuning it over too much

Banks, Marion good

Boris a bit passive, Raja and James J missing jumpers

Suns 32 Clips 24

Will the Knicks v Grizzlies game ever end?

The next game is tomorrow against Utah at home. We have to keep up the pace and win 2 in a row.
I was very happy with AmareŽs performance, i hope heŽll get better game by game.

I'm a day late giving my take of the game, but here it goes anyways.

A MUCH better performance tonight from the Suns. I was much more impressed with their 1st quarter last night, than against the Lakers, because they were much more aggressive on defense.

Barbosa looks like he might be taking more and more minutes away from Raja, who can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn right now. He looks a little out of shape, maybe still trying to catch up from the calf injury setbacks he had last summer.

Amare looked great tonight. I was really happy to see him perform at a high level, and you could see the confidence growing in his eyes as the first half went on. He just needs to string together 2 good halfs, and then we might be seeing more of the old Amare.

Marion had a great game on both ends. I thought one of the turning points in the game was when Marion checked Brand twice and stripped someone else and that led to a Suns fast break.

Kurt played solid minutes tonight. I really like what I saw from him, even though he had some bad calls not go his way.

It was good to see Diaw in there being aggressive in the second half. It looks like he's having a bit of a rough time adjusting to all the new players.

Banks looked good, and gave Nash some good rest.

Overall, a solid performance on both sides for the Suns. Let's keep it up on Friday.
