I look up to a lot of white soccer players, what's your point you racist Americans?...Stop lumping all blacks into one mold, say "Black Americans" don't look upto white atheletes and you'll sound a lot more accurate.
People love underdogs. Black people are the "underdogs" because they are a minority in our society. So people relate to them more and want to see them do well in any sport. Who cares about another white guy being a success? I sure don't.

First of all, Aaron broke the record in 1974??? (guessing). Times have changed. Get with the program....
Actually, it didn't matter was Fuzzy or the elitist white golf community thought, it only mattered what the PUBLIC thought. We love the guy. Nike gave him a gazillion dollars. Why do you think that was? Hmmmm? hmmm? Give it to me...because he was....wait for it...wait for it....a kick ass black/asian golfer.....that's GOOOD marketing...we love black athtletes....especially if they are considered underdogs in their sport...
Sampras didn't not get love because he's white. He didn't because he was boring. Dirk doesn't get the national recognition because he hasn't quite earned it yet. He's gotten no rings, he plays in Dallas (not NYC, Chicago or LA) and isn't flashy either.
If Michael Jordan were white he wouldn't be considered the greatest player of all time by many. He just wouldn't be as athletic, simple as that. That takes away from his game.
Larry Bird is the greatest EVER, by far, when it comes to getting the most out of what you had/have.

But your premise isn't completely unfounded.
Yes, being popular isn't as simple as black and white (no pun intended). But race helps. If Sampras had same boring persona, but just happen to be black, his popularity would be a lot higher in general.
Look at the Williams sisters? We LOVE them (or maybe loved them). They are great AND black in a white sport. And they are SISTERS. Oh, we adore them...who wouldn't?

It's fact that the average black person has more fast-twitch fibers then the regular white guy. They are superior to whites in terms of athletic ability because they had to endur a lot more physical stuff back in the day. While white people sat on their ass and whipped, blacks were doing hard labour. Is that being racist? I guess schools across the world are guilty of being racist because it's what they teach.

Black people have been popular since the '80s. Wake up!!! Cosby Show, Oprah, Hip Hop, Rap, Jordan of course....you are comparing the 1970's to the 2000's and don't think there is a difference in our culture. I would suggest not going into Marketing as a profession....

No school teaches that. Now I wonder what school you go to. Is it also a fact that white people are more intelligent than blacks?...There's even much stronger evidence/reasons to beleive that. It's not in the genetics, it doesn't matter if you're black/white.If it's in the genetics, why isn't every black person more atheletic than every white person?....Why are the best high jumpers in the world not black?...Even more outstanding is this, why aren't mixed people in the middle spectrum when it comes to atheleticism?...Yeah, keep bullsh!tting high school dropout.
