Smile Do the Lakers really need a true PF?

With Lo & Rad both @ 6'10 and not being true PF's has to be one of the most interchangeable versatile starting forward tandems that this league has to offer imo, which can definitely be used to our advantage not knowing who's playing where will create match-up problems and confuse the F out of the opponents on D. Give or take Phil now has options to swap Odom & Rad @ either forward positions at anytime to counter attack on the opponent matching up with us, though if we had a true PF (Turiaf waiting) to begin with most of us Laker Fans would be put at ease and wouldn't be confused debating on who should be starting where.

So aside from keeping the opponents Puzzled:confused: on Defense, here's my perspective on this ongoing situation: w/Odom being a better rebounder, shot blocker and having a far more effective inside game than Radmanovic should get the nod to play @ the 4 and Rad being a much better shooter is far more superior w/his perimeter game than Odom should be utilized @ SF where he would be commanding alot more respect from the opposition and would force them to double team him therefore freeing up the Kobester to do his thang. So pending the outcome of just how well Odom & Rad accomodate each others game this season could positively effect the Lakers outcome in getting a true PF sooner than later. So Laker Fans is this a good option to have Odom & Rad interchangeable @ the forward slots or having that true PF would better suit the Lakers needs to win the ultimate goal of a Championship?

Well said *LAKERS_3_PETE*,

However we wont need a True PF because Odom plays just like one only he can dribble better than all PF's.

So that makes him one of the better players at that position in this league.

Rad should strictly play SF, though this may cause some matchup problems to our disadvantage (t-mac, carmelo) and may Cause Big guys to overpower Odom when were at Defense (TD)

But we had some defensive problems all year last year and we still made up for it in other areas and we will still be winners this year

You're right Lakerfreak although Rad might pose a threat on offense playing SF at the defensive end is where the disadvantage is at for him, although at camp he stated publicly on committing himself to playing defense this year.

Can anyone say A.C. Green? How about Robert Horry? Ho Grant was a little closer in body-type, but definitely up there in years.

My point is that Phil has proven the Triangle and his defensive schemes don't need a true PF, just a guy who can play good team defense and have a consistent mid-range shot to keep teams honest.

No way. His contract was up and wanted more money than he was worth, and his wife's habit of running her mouth to the press wasn't to nice either. He didn't get along with Phil because he wouldn't (or couldn't) play defense, plus he was old and creaky when we had him, and the fact that we went on 2 win two more titles after he left kinda shows we didn't need him.

Yeah but no wife of an nba star is worse than Doug Christie's wife jackie who in this pic looks kind of evilish.
