'09 by far. the 93 team had alot more personality tho. and the '93 team is a reason i don't give yank fans much grief over the whole yankee/steroids issue. btw hamels would have been beaten to a pulp by his teammates had he made the comments he made earlier in the series (if he made em on that '93 team). he would have also got his teeth knocked down his throat each time he threw his hands up because his basemen didn't make the correct play.

:)
Easily the top sports moment of my life. Everytime I watch that clip I get chills, and flash back to being 12 and jumping around the living room with my Dad (who was acting the exact same age).

The '93 team had better pitching and more consistent hitting. This year's team has many more power threats and guys capable of going yard. Also remember the '93 team won 97 games while this year's team won 93.
The '93 team also knocked off Atlanta, who was arguably the best and most consistent team in baseball at the time. '93 wins IMO.

I'll argue that the team who won the WS two years in a row was the best and most consistent. :)
/ end Blue Jays discussion aka Phillies fans prodding, resume current WS discussion.

Matched up in a 7-game series? '09 is easily the more feared opponent. What Cliff Lee has donce since his arrival in Philadelphia is remarkable. I understand a lot of people have soured on Hamels, but I'd take him over any pitcher not named Schilling on that '93 club. I'm not sure anyone on that '93 club is capable of putting up the kind of #'s Utley has in the WS.
I'd probably take the 09 club over 162 games as well.

Pedro will be out before the 5th, Pettitte will be out before the 6th. Battle of the bullpens and I like the Yankees to close it out, with Mo throwing at least 6 outs, possibly 7.
