Should you even be allowed to win 2 MIPs? It's sort of the award that goes 'Ok, you've got one, you should be good enough not to win another one'. But I like the Speights and Blatche picks, but of course I'm hoping Ariza will at least make it a close race.

Wait...Didn't somebody say Ariza needs Kobe in order to be effective? How's that workin' for ya Kobe fans? I know REAL Laker fans didn't believe that garbage, some might have but for the most part we all know how athletic and how talented Ariza was. Kobe fans are probably crying now.

Keep up the consistency Ariza, the Ariza Era for the Houston Rockets is coming up.

Ariza has not changed, his stats will simply be more inflated since he will get much more shots than he did on Lakers.

Ryan Anderson stands a chance too.

This; I don't expect Ariza and Brooks to average 23/21 ppg like they are now.

Scola is having a first few down games. Eventually, Scola will be Rockets' first option.

If there was a comeback player of the year, Arenas would easily win it and Wade would have gotten it last season. It's about most improved and Ariza has improved the most.....at least so far.

MIP is the most improved player from LAST YEAR, so yes Arenas can and probably will win.

Ariza will be a solid player this season, but right now without a star or a true low post threat to play off of he wont be able to keep up what he did the first 5 games or so. His efficientcy will suffer. I see him in the 14-18pt range by years end.

It will be very interesting to see how he handles the extended minutes he gets this year. Dont forget Trevor had only 52 starts in his 5 year NBA career before he came to Houston.

Another factor is how well he shoots his 3's. The guy was a career 29% 3pt shooter until last year where he continually improved throughout the year and ended with a career high 31.9% mark. In the playoffs he got red hot and hit 47.6% from distance. He's started this season off at 45%, but dont expect that to continue. What kind of 3pt shooter will he be this year? I'd say 34-38% 3 pt shooter is about what he'll be.

Like I said, he'll be a solid guy, just not an allstar.

lets quiet this MIP player until it is deserved...... 2 and a half weeks hardly merits and year long discussion. There are other players that have improved more than him at this point anyway. hope he can keep this up someway, but i think he will fall into the slot that he left in LA before year's end.
