Joe Staley out 6 weeks
San Jose Mercury News reports:
Joe Staley was perched on a stool in the 49ers locker room Monday, his right knee encased in a bulky brace. Not far away, Nate Clements stood in front of his locker, his right arm tucked in a sling.
They shared more than pain from injuries suffered in Sunday's 18-14 loss to Indianapolis. Both are durable players who now for the first time in their pro careers will miss extended action — which is trouble for the reeling 49ers.
The biggest blow is Staley. The team's best offensive lineman suffered sprains to two ligaments in his right knee and will miss six weeks.
