Atlanta is still alive. It is going to come down to Dallas, New York, Green Bay and Atlanta for the last 2 playoff spots. In the AFC Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland, and Kansas City are the only teams that can't make it. But I have to say, Go Titans! I would love to see them make the playoffs, and I need a big day from CJ next week to take home gold in my fantasy league.

Atlanta is out. They are 7-7 and can only max out at 9-7. Even if Dallas also finishes at 9-7, Dallas won their only meeting. Therefore, Atlanta has been eliminated.

According to NFL.com:

Quote:
Ravens- They control their own destiny, and road is paved without a single opponent above .500. REMAINING OPPONENTS (12-16): at Pittsburgh (7-7), at Oakland (5-9).

Quote:
Bengals- Bengals clinch AFC North with a win or BAL loss. Trying to hang on to the No. 3 seed won't be easy as they try to stay focused after death of a teammate. REMAINING OPPONENTS (10-18): Kansas City (3-11), at N.Y. Jets (7-7).

Quote:
Broncos- Looking like a sure bet to get in as a wild card with home games against Raiders and Chiefs still on the schedule. REMAINING OPPONENTS (13-15): at Philadelphia (10-4), Kansas City (3-11).

Quote:
Patriots- tarting to separate from the pack, Patriots look to secure yet another AFC East title. REMAINING OPPONENTS (14-14): Jacksonville (7-7), at Houston (7-7).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote:
Cowboys- Big win over previously unbeaten Saints could have saved season and made this December memorable. REMAINING OPPONENTS (13-13): at Washington (4-9), Philadelphia (9-4).

Quote:
Eagles- Eagles clinch playoff berth with a win. Looking pretty good for a No. 3 or 4 seed, but a tough final two games lies ahead. REMAINING OPPONENTS (17-11): Denver (8-6), at Dallas (9-5).

Quote:
Packers- Packers clinch playoff berth with GB win + NYG loss. Riding a five-game winning streak(until loss today), Packers are in good position. Season finale against Cards could be playoff preview. REMAINING OPPONENTS (14-14): Seattle (5-9), at Arizona (9-5).

Quote:
Cardinals- Cardinals clinched NFC West with SF loss. Clinched NFC West title, but hardly playing like they're ready for the playoffs. Sound familiar? REMAINING OPPONENTS (10-17): St. Louis (1-13), Green Bay (9-4).

Trying to figure out the AFC playoff scenarios right now is a waste of time. Better off waiting to see how things pan out after next Sunday.

Next week, we have Houston @ Miami, Jacksonville @ New England, New York @ Indianapolis, San Diego @ Tennessee, and Baltimore @ Pittsburgh. We'll certainly have a better idea after next week.

I believe these are the actually current standing
in the 6 way tie you eliminate teams withing the same division.

So Miami eliminates New York
and Jacksonville and Tennessee eliminate Houston

then among the 4 other teams you use the conference records

Quote:
Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss

It's safe to say whoever loses next week is out. Jets(Colts) and Jaguars(Patriots) are almost guaranteed to lose.

new york will probably lose to the bengals, thanks to the colts for giving them a game. who is more likely to lose, baltimore against oakland or denver against kansas city? i doubt any of those teams is gonna lose and we still have to beat new england..
