Default Let's talk about Thabo Sefolosha

Got the stats from http://www.dailythunder.com/2009/11/...-neither-do-i/

-Kevin Martin: 27 pts, 5-19 fg (only 3 in 2nd half)
-Ben Gordon: 25 pts, 8-20 fg
-Brandon Roy: 16 pts, 5-17 fg, 1-5 3’s
-Kobe Bryant: 31 pts, 9-22 fg, 7 to’s (overtime)
-Trevor Ariza: 21 pts, 8-18 fg
-J.J. Redick: 5 pts, 2-11 fg, 0-6 3’s
-Tyreke Evans: 20 pts, 5-16 fg, 5 to’s
-Rasual Butler: 8 pts, 2-10 fg, 2-8 3’s
-Manu Ginobili: 7 pts, 0-8 fg, 0-4 3’s
-Rasual Butler: 8 pts, 3-8 fg
-Dwyane Wade: 22 pts, 6-19 fg, 6 to’s.

Obviously he wasn't guarding all of them 100% of the time but they were his main assignment.

One of the main reason's why the Thunder have been an elite defensive team so far this season has been the play of Thabo who sets the tone defensively and makes opponents night a living hell.

All-Defensive 1st team for him this season?

He's been impressive everytime I've watched him.

If this OKC team sticks together, in about 3 years they have all the components except a low post scorer for a title team...

I made a thread about him after his game against Kobe, he IS a legit defender but won't get enough recognition to be considered for an all nba defensive team.

Always knew Thabo was a good defense player but never knew he was doing that good this year.

Good post, good stats, a very under rated player even in his Chicago days coming off the bench with a still relevant Andreas Nocioni for their first post-MJ playoff teams.

A lot of Thunder fan's think Harden is going to take the starting spot sometime this year, but I don't see it that way especially with the way Thabo has been playing. Harden could end up being similar to Ginobili in terms of team impact and role. A guy who comes off the bench and gives them offense, because with Westbrook/Durant/Green/Krstic in the starting lineup they need offense more for the 2nd group. Presti seems to have a great grasp on chemistry and how to put teams together. Coming from San Antonio I guess it's not a surprise...

I watched the Lakers, Portland and Miami games against Oklahoma.

Today and against the Lakers he was getting help all day against Wade and Kobe. The whole time.

Against Portland, they doubled quite a lot on Roy as well.

It's gunna be interesting to see how his career pans out. The whole time he was riding the bench in Chicago I wondered if he should be getting some good burn.

But then again some days it was like "Hell no! We got BG". Haha.

Yea he may get some help, but he makes a lot of plays and forces turnovers. Against Kobe he forced 2 or 3 (or 4) that were solely because of his D.

Good thread. The game against the Lakers, I have Sefolosha as holding Kobe to 6-14 from the field when he was guarding Kobe iso. That's about as good a job as anyone has done on Kobe this year not named Raja Bell or Trevor Ariza.

Good to see Thabo get some love. I thought he'd have a big impact when he was traded to OKC. It wasn't as immediate as I expected, but it is happening.

I like both Thabo and Harden, so I hope the coach finds a good way to rotate them in the future -Harden is still learning at this point-.
