Well it's about time this matchup was set after all the rainouts and the NLCS going the distance.
I want the Cards to win but the Tigers are the obvious better team and "should" have an easy time winning it. This huge break was a big advantage to the Tigers who got to rest their already superior pitching staff (especially Joel Zumaya's wonky wrist).
Tigers have to be huge favorites. They should get it done in 5 games, even though the Cardinals matchup better than the Mets and their patchwork pitching.
2 straight years the Central divisions have teams in the World Series. ESPN is fuming.
i hope the tigers can continue their amazing pitching. how is the card's pitching? im not a baseball fan i've just been watching since the tigers wer ein the playoffs.
They have Carpenter who is a legit ace and then not much afterwards. Suppan had a good NLCS but cmon, he's nothing more than a decent #4 pitcher or so. Jeff Weaver is total garbage who is riding one of the very few decent streaks he'll have in his career.
I think this years Cards are the worst team I've ever seen in the playoffs.
1.Only one legit hitter
2.No bullpen
3.Only one worthy starting pitcher
4.No closer
5.If I'm not mistaken, the team had 2 10 game losing streaks this year.
6.Worst record for any playoff team ever
Final thoughts... THe Cards have no business being in the WS.
The knuckleheads at FOX/ESPN have to sobbing about this matchup. F'em
Imagine a guy like David Stern running baseball. Ughh. The Yankees would be in the World Series EVERY year. You'd see guys like A-Rod getting obvious strike calls called as balls or foul balls hit on the outside of the foul pole called as home runs.
