Default Greg Oden hurt left knee Saturday

Hopefully it's not something serious, again

I'm getting the same feeling a got after he had to have microfracture surgery. Was starting to come into his own as well, sad day for Blazer fans.

I feel horrible for this kid - best wishes to Greg Oden and I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.

Anyone think that this will lead us to trade to get another big??? We're maxed out on guaranteed contracts, so we can't add anyone (read on ESPN that a team has to be down to 7 active players in order to get a waiver) via free agency.

Believe it or not, Laker fans know this feeling from Andrew Bynum, and its not a good one... as soon as he got his game going the last two seasons, his progress was dead-stopped by serious knee injuries. We worry about that all the time...

So, lets hope to a speedy recovery for Greg Oden!!!! I want to see him play and develop into what he can truly be!

I heard this on the Radio Sunday while I was on my way to the Seahawks game. This really sucks!! I was really wanting to see Greg have a break out year and stay healthy. Now I'm really worried about the guy and how his NBA career is going to turn out.

Blazers fans have reason to worry:

2006-2007: Out 7 games - broken wrist, finished the college season with injury.
2007-2008: Out for the season - microfracture surgery on the right knee.
2008-2009: Out for 20 games - foot sprain and ankle sprain.
2009-2010: Out for the season - fractured left patella.

Every season this young man has an injury. It is disconcerting at the least. One can only hope that as his body matures the injuries will be less frequent.

This certainly demonstrates the value of Pryzbilla.

I don't know what's worse. The fact that Portland sucks so badly, or the fact that I don't even care because I expect it now.

Jesus, atleast 3 years ago they were exciting to watch. This is just depressing. I realize we have a lot of injuries, but we also have a ton of talent still.

Perhaps less of an emotional response to the situation would help.

The Blazers have had a number of significant injuries to their roster and, yes, they still have a number of very talented active players. Are they a team destined for the NBA Finals. No. And they wouldn't be even without the injuries. It takes a number of years for a team with championship talent to gel and make it to the Finals. At this point it is not known if the Blazers have that talent.

All teams have injuries throughout a season. It certainly does seem the Blazers have had more than their fair share this season. However, the Blazers are still a respectable team, will win 48-52 games this year, and will probably sneak into the playoffs.

The important question to me is whether Oden can become a 75 games a season player long term. He seems to have one injury after another every season. What do the Blazers do if he has another season ending injury next year when he can be resigned to a long term (and expensive) contract? Difficult decisions.
