Default Devin Green cut

Quote:
The Lakers are expected to waive second-year forward Devin Green in order to get their roster down to 15 players by today's league-mandated deadline.

Green made the team last season as an undrafted rookie from Hampton

great to hear vlade improving and to hear the confidence the team has in odom.

anyways, I dont like that decision, I would rather get rid of mckie...

I have not seen this guy play B-Ball but listening to everybody a month ago saying he had good talent and wished he made the team. So did we have him overrated or what. Hope Mckie moves soon too.

Do the Lakers retain the rights to Green if he is not picked up this year by another team? If so, I bet he would be back in Summer League.

Keeping McKee is probably the right thing to do (as mario pointed out) so that they can put together a trade package of some sort.

The upside in this news is that the Lakers are a little bit deeper this year, so you dont have some of these borderline NBDL players on the team.

Why cut green he has potential and a future. Mckie has nothing going for him. He is old and injury prone. Cut or Trade Mckie and make all the Laker fans in the world happy. CUT MCKIE CUT MCKIE. Are you guys with me?

No, he's essentially a free agent, anybody can sign him anytime, anywhere.

Green was officially cut today:

Quote:
The Lakers waived second-year forward Devin Green Monday and submitted their official 15-man roster to the league. Kwame Brown (shoulder), Aaron McKie (back) and Chris Mihm (ankle) are on the team's inactive list.

No, because Green wasn't going to see playing time anyway and has no jumpshot. McKie is good in a trade package, hopefully something will go down before the trade deadline. Bottom line, it was the right decision assuming McKie gets traded.

I'm telling you [mariodeathgrip]:that's what it is, I posted it under Could the Lakers be setting up for a.... thread last week. I think trading McKie's contract could play a big part in a trade that will have him packaged along w/Mihm & Cookie and now that the personnell is there for trading the question now is will mitch pull the trigger when there's a right deal on the table?
