My team is desperate for assists and I have 7 power forward eligible guys. The guy I offered the trade to wants Boozer and Kobe. My other power forwards are Zach Randolph, Antawn Jamison and Jason Thompson (some of the others are SF/PF or PF/C). Does this seem like a fair trade? I'd be receiving Durant/Nash (I want to dump diaw to make room for Kevin Martin or Michael Redd for when they get healthy again).
I disagree. Kobe and Durant are basically a wash, and Boozer and Nash are also very close in value. Like you said, Diaw is in decline and is a non-factor.
The result of this trade is that you will receive gains in assists, FT%, and 3's, and incur losses in rebounds, steals, and FG%. The points and blocks are pretty close. If the potential gains in the categories outweigh the losses, then make the trade.
The other important issue to consider is if that if your league counts turnovers, Nash/Durant will kill you and thus may tip this trade the other way.

Yeah theres no penalty for turnovers, and Im leading in Rebounds, Steals and FG% by a pretty good margin right now. I look at Boozer as a semi risk right now because Millsap could end up taking minutes from him at some point if he has a slump, and he's somewhat injury prone. Right now the only categories that Im not in the top 3 in are blocks and assists. I figure nash would fix the assist problem and the Kobe/Durant part of the trade was just because he wanted Kobe and I figure they are fairly close in value.
I will lose out on some rebounds from Boozer, but I figure Randolph and Jamison are doing well there right now. I'm a little leary of trading Kobe but I do like Durants game a lot.

This trade is purely hypothetical right now, we've been tossing trade ideas around back and forth for a few days now

As another poster mentioned, Kobe ~ Durant and Nash ~ Boozer. I have more faith in Nash than Boozer as the season goes on too, so it's pretty even in my eyes.
Thanks for all the comments. The trade got approved and will finalize tomorrow. I guess I feel like I'm coming out of it pretty good since a byproduct of the trade will be getting Kevin Martin or Redd. Also on ESPN's player rater, Nash and Durant are 4th and 5th overall at all positions. Itll be interesting to see how this season turns out. Its my first time playing fantasy basketball.
I can't believe Kobe broke the finger as the trade processed lol.. that rules.
Heres my team now after a few tweaks.
