Default robot referees

solution to bad officiating?

they'll never make the wrong call. i think in the next 5 years technology would be sufficient for an AI to referee an NBA game. just pack the court with cameras from all angles and let an AI do the work.

Never gonna work, and would we really want it to? So much of the game is subjective, if we're getting mad at how pussified the league has become, then just wait to see a foul called on every trip down the court with AI refs.

Every player would foul out of every game if you called every single tiny ticky tack indiscretion.

Humans program and create robots so officiating will still be flawed.

an objective AI would still be better than a subjective human.

anyway, nba would never approve of this, part of the NBA success is officiating as it is, it is the most riggable sport of all major US sports. leaning the balance towards the best story has made them the most successful league worldwide
