Pat Riley always goes after the bad rap type players. He loves a project.
He would definitely offer him a contract, but nothing close to what the Wizards gave him.
Pat had Gill 3rd behind Brand, & Odom that year. so yeah i could see Pat offer him a contract. only reason he went to WAS was cause we didn't offer him a deal that year & instead signed Brand, till LA matched & we snagged Odom.
Out of curiosity, what do you see Pat doing on draft night?
1- Drafting two players.
2- Trading both to move up.
3- Trading one, or both for future 1st's.
4- Trade one, or both to get ride of Jones, & Cook.
5- Trade one, or both with players like Jones, Cook, Chalmers, & Beasley for either one 3rd star player, or 2, or 3 good players?
1st it is only if Pat values the players (Aldrich) enough like he did Lopez, & Kaman a few years back.
My idea is trade both picks, with the contracts of Jones, Cook, & if need be throw in 2nd rounders, or a future 1st. Maybe even cash if necessary, for Aldrich (or which ever player Pat falls in love with), + clear the contracts of Jones, Cook, so in the end we save 4, to 5 mil in cap to add to our $8mil or so we already have after we sign Wade/max player, & we get that 1 rook Pat values. (whoever it may be).

I see hims drafting with one, and packaging one in a Beasley based deal to Toronto or Phoenix for a sign and trade.

Why would we do that? A 1st & a TPE is enough.
If you remember ORL wanted R Lewis, & Lewis wanted to go to ORL, so ORL gave Seattle a 1st, & a TPE to match contracts. Then TOR/PHX could use that to trade for a player they would want.
Only way we should trade Beasley is if 1, it was for a legit 3rd all star player, or 2 packaged with Jones, Cook, & both picks, for that 3rd all star player .
I've never posted 8000 posts on any message board in my life. This is my first that I spent any time on. Good luck to you guys. I think if D-wade stays in a Heat uni - Amare will listen to an offer , but I think because of their play to the western conf finals Suns have negotiating power..
Everyone is talking Chicago , but really I think something big is going to happen in Miami.
