I hate twitter, but this is an actual reporter from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Otherwise, I wouldn't trust that damn site either.

That's a credible and close source so I'll follow it for this, but some random account that claims to work for a Dallas paper says he's dead and it ends up on CBS. Ridiculous and insulting.

Sadly, we are in the era where everyone is desperate to the be the first one to report something. It seems like it's common sense to get the story accurate before reporting it, but twitter, and all these social networking sites are all combining to ruin modern day media.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Tiger was in "serious condition." after he crashed his car.

I just hate the way this stuff is dealt with.

That biodome10 character's probably going to hell, but at least a good amount of shoddy journalists learned a lesson.

Homicide detectives are being brought in to investigate the situation. That's not a good sign. If they're bringing in homicide detectives, it either means he has already passed on, or his hope of survival is very bleak.

That's exactly my point. The sites like CBS and Deadspin, especially CBS, hopefully realized that instead of caring about breaking a story first to actually verify it.

oh I see where I misunderstood your post...

I thought you were saying that biodome10 was a "shoddy journalist" and that others could learn from his mistake...but you were talking bout CBS...gotcha
