Question Kicks vs. Asphalt

Okay, this discussion is most certainly ageless, but I bring it up again: which sneakers would you recommend for intense outdoor ballin'?

And while primary criterion is definitely durability, I'd still want to have at least some comfort and traction because I play as a guard/small forward.

Last summer I rocked my Adidas Lightning Creator (legit from finishline). I was led to believe that most adidas shoes are sturdy as hell, but it turns out that some, like the Creators (and im pretty sure the newer installments like Supernaturals etc as well), are certainly designed for indoor balling only. Two months of balling and I have a *hole* on my left shoe (because i usually pivot left), right in the sole, on the toe. NOt to mention the completely flattened front sole because of all the friction.

I understand, of course, that sneakers, especially if used for aggressive ballin', are bound to get wreaked eventually, but then I realize that my cheapsh!t Reebok Bucketz II and Adidas Feather have already endured all sorts of punishment and are only beginning to deteriorate. (i still hate those two models because, well, they suck at pretty much everything performance-wise, and the sizes are a bit off) Which brings us to the subject: which shoes provide best combination of durability and performance?

I haven't balled in anything Nike in 4 or 5 years ever since my orthopedist said adidas is better for flat-footed people like me. I can tell you that the Illrhana Response has good grip. The TS Lightspeed, as comfortable as they are (I still wear them), they were a bit hard to change directions in. I'd suggest looking into the Illrahna's. Also pretty good fit, and it comes in sick colorways. Mine's black with red stripes and accents with a touch of grey somewhere in the heel area.
