Mista Kool is starting to rub some people the wrong way
Default Tyler Hansbrough is a Future 20 & 10 Player

It's true. He's already getting to the line like a superstar (4 FTA in under 20 minutes). That's what made him so special at UNC and which his detractors said wouldn't translate to the NBA. It has. Once his shot starts falling, probably by the All-Star break, he'll be unstoppable. He's also rebounding well and playing some hard-nosed, bruiser-style defense.

Looks like the "experts" who claimed that he wouldn't amount to much were wrong

If his "shot" remains the same get the ball right under the rim and try and hipcheck it up there it's never going to start falling, ever. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid, and getting to the FT line is a legit skill, as is just playing all out (think about it, how many guys are 100% every possession?), but let's not fool ourselves. He's not able to just establish position on the block and force a guy off his spot off a pivot with sheer strength anymore.

If he ever puts up 20 and 10 I'll eat a basketball.

I'm assuming this is a joke thread.

If it isn't, then some people have no idea what it means to average 20/10 for a season. Hansbrough will never see those types of numbers, even if he used binoculars.

His shot will never start falling because he's more worried about flailing around to get a foul then fixing his shot. His release is under his chin which is why he gets blocked so much.

So were pretending a lot of great players as they went along didn't fix their shots later in their career?

You don't understand. He has no semblance of an NBA post game. OK, I lied, he establishes position pretty well, after that, it gets ugly. No hook, no drop step, his best hope is turning and facing but his release would need completely reworked to prevent a swat. He will NEVER be a guy you run sets for to get a post bucket. Post and curl off an interior screen for a midrange J, sure, but not from the block.

I don't understand why people think he was ever drafted (regardless of if Indy drafted him) to be a scorer. If a GM/scout drafted him for that, he needs fired immediately. He'll score off putbacks, FTs, and his admirable effort of continuous work resulting in the defender occasionally falling asleep.

Tyler Hansbrough is an energy player and a great one at that. He's definitly not a guy you give the ball to for him to look to score. He will get his points off of putbacks. I don't see why he can't eventually average 10 boards a game though. 20 points on the other hand? Never going to happen.

No. Granger's the only guy who's a guaranteed starter next year. Hell, the rest of this year.

How many guys have you seen that would rather bulldoze into people, shooting the ball like a shotput, just to try and get a foul then actually try and make the shot? He's been doing this same thing since he was a freshman at UNC. He's never going to be a guy you want to feed the ball to.

20/10 is pretty hard to get. not even Dwight is getting 20/10

only 2 players are averaging 20/10 right now and thats Bosh and Z-Bo
