did you not follow the first time I explained it?

Charles Woodson helped his team get into the post season, Chris Johnson did not...that is why he would deserve votes over CJ...simple as that.

If CJ would have won MVP this year, then we need to go back and hand one off to Jamal Lewis, and whole bunch of others that didn't win MVP because their team sucked...

follow?

Default Re: 2009 NFL MVP: Peyton Manning

Chris Johnson set an NFL record with yards from scrimmage breaking Marshall Faulks record. Chris Johnson became the 6th RB in history to rush for over 2,000yds, something Adrian Peterson didnt do. He has the most explosive plays for touchdowns. No one in NFL history had 3 rushing tds for 85yds or more.

Quote:
Only six other running backs in NFL history have had more than one TD run of 85 yards or more – Shaun Alexander of the Seahawks (2001, 2005), Ahman Green of the Packers (2001, 2002), Bob Hoernschemeyer of the Lions (1950, 1951), Bo Jackson of the Raiders (1987, 1989), Hugh McElhenny of the 49ers (1952, 1956) and O.J. Simpson of the Bills (1972, 1975).

What CJ has done in 1 season is more than some of the great RBs of all time have done in thier entire careers. He arguably became the best RB in the game as the season concluded.

Yet Charles Woodson deserves a vote whereas CJ doesnt. Gotcha, no really.

And if you're argument hinges solely on team record? Thats funny considering Woodson didnt carry GB the way CJ did the Titans offense. CJ had more of an impact on his team than Woodson did. Titans were 1 win away from being in the wildcard picture. Finished 8-8. He deserves a single vote more than Woodson does.

your logic is moronic

Quote:

CJ had more of an impact to his team than Woodson. He carried them offensively. Aaron Rodgers threw for over 4300yds 30tds. Woodson had a great season defensively. But to compare it to CJ's? Please.

Quote:

No one said CJ should have won it dumbass. You said he didnt deserve a single vote, but Woodson did. Thats flat out wrong. No one is arguing CJ should have won MVP. But dont say he doesnt deserve a single vote. Given the year he had? He did deserve a vote. Doesnt imply he should have won.

Smarten up.

CJ will likely win offense player of the year...

NFL MVP always goes to the best player on the best team and that is the way it needs to stay...

don't tell me it is me that doesn't make sense, I am not the one that set it up that way...write a letter to the AP telling them what CJ did...

I can tell you without doubt that Dallas would have beat the Pack this year without Woodson there...

Why cant you read and comprehend your own shyt? Stop drinkin you f*ckin alcolohic. The argument isnt should CJ have won, its should CJ have recieve a votes. You said he shouldnt have recieved a single vote (which implies 1 vote). Thats what we arguing. given what CJ did this season? It goes down in the history books and yet he doesnt deserve a single vote in your eyes.

Gurantee if this was Adrian Peterson in Tennesee you dont utter none of this babble.

you are saying that CJ should deserve votes "TO WIN THE AWARD" over Charles...

I am just baseing my assumption on the fact that these mythical people voting are doing so because they feel the player they are voting for should win...that's all

1. CJ would win MVP over Charles if it came to just them down. most likely would be unanimous

2. Recieving a vote or some just has voters acknowleding the season he had which was not only great but he is a big reason that team has won 8 games. The silly part is if Titans win just 1 more game then somehow getting some consideration ie vote/votes is warranted but since they didnt its unwarranted to you. Favre got a single vote, dont see the big deal if CJ were to get one.

3. All this is moot because i felt Manning was going to win and he had my vote. But giving consideration to other worth candidates isnt a sin. Nor would it have been for CJ. Charles Woodson can get his defensive MVP award when the DPOY is voted upon.

BASED on the history of the award...YES

actually though, it the award is usually given to the player on the team that is just considered the hands down best team in the NFL though...so I am not sure squeaking in the post season would have gotten CJ any votes...look at the players that got votes...Favre got ONE!!!

of course manning won--- he was the defacto mvp for like 80% of the season.

with regards to chris johnson:

he started blowing up once kerry collins was benched--- vince young comes in, forces defenses to adjust to his playing style, and johnson blows up. the titans openly and blatantly made it their goal to make sure chris johnson gets the aforementioned records--- the past couple of weeks (when the titans were officially eliminated) ruined johnsons candidacy.

oh, and---where was charles woodson for like 50% of the season, when greenbay was in ridiculous shootouts that would make vince lombardi cry?

both didn't deserve a single vote.

ps. it takes like 3 weeks to validate an account here

Vince had zero to do with CJ exploding. you play that angle then Favre shouldnt have recieved a single vote given Peterson was his RB where teams focused on containing him and most fell victim to the play action pass.

outside of the fact that one is a qb and one is an rb, the farve/peterson comparison makes no sense.

look at the titans game by game--- chris johnson became the mvp candidate when vince young came about.

correlation vs causation blah blah blah--- above all else--- the two's success is necessarily linked.

johnson was NOT someone worth talking about (outside of week two vs. texans) for the first half of the season--- he blew up when young started playing; the offense stayed relatively the exact same---his candidacy goes up with the production AND the titans winning.

titans lose---johnson becomes a selfish, vain loudmouth (CJ2K!!!!!!!!11)--- team openly talks about having him break records, and !!!!!!!!!!!!! he does.

no way in hell he deserves an mvp vote.
