Default We need more people in the streetball forum!

Seems like the main forum is overrun by homers and whatnot, and the OTC is just a bunch of bull, although entertaining at times. What I want to talk about is basketball, playing it that is. So let's just try and liven up this forum a bit from now on

Yeah a lot of guys on here like to talk about watching basketball but don't seem to share the same passion playing. I just love playing this game it's crazy. In fact I'm excited for tomoorw cause I got basketball class at my JC tomorrow and it's the first class we're playing so I get to scout the talent.

It's a bunch of games. It's like a P.E. class but just bball. The competition is pretty decent at the top and I THINK they consider me up there so I get matched up against the best players. So it's good, a lot of fun just balling for an hour straight.

I like it that we don't get any unwanted trolls and whatnot but it seems theres not much discussion going on around here.

I used to care so much about improving my vertical but it's more important to improve your overall skillset. Sure it's nice to be able to get up but if you play ball with taller people, you'll know that height>hops, however a combination of both can be killer.

No no. Haha. It's just a saying, I'm going to evaluate the guys I'll be playing against all semester.

I mean the coach does watch from time to time and we do play the guys on the team after class. And one of the teams players is in the class I played him today.

But not like college recruiters in our class.

yup... My friend had a 36" or so vert (at 6'2 reach 7'10.5) but would get blocked by taller/longer guys. Part of it is because he hangs in the air though while he shoots... I have told him to stop cus taller people can block it... but most people just end up fouling him cus his release is way behind his head (Like Dirks).

I think most people just want to throw down on a break though... that's all I want to do. My halfcourt game is always going to be below the rim but when I get in the open I want to be able to finish above the rim... Also though a higher vert will help you during those times a real athletic guy is on you and it will give you that extra lift to get it over him every time even in difficult situations.
