Please no T.O. Don't want an aging, prima donna on this team, but then I look at this roster, and I see a bunch of questionable personalities really turn it around, so who knows.
I'd like for us to go younger and draft a wideout, or bank on Andre Caldwell/Coles to step it up.
The Bengals picked up WR Matt Jones today for he league minimum. What a great "upside" pick up for them. Matt and Carson Palmer should do some damage this year....
I know what they are thinking: They are thinking that since they turned around the careers/lives of formerly troubled players such as Cedric Benson, Tank Johnson, and Chris Henry (who was changing his life before his tragic passing) that they can just keep banking on that philosophy. I think it's hard, and unrealistic, to expect to strike gold via said method time and time again.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals have contemplated pursuing restricted free agent Brandon Marshall.
No visit is scheduled yet, and Marshall was in Seattle over the weekend. However, Schefter's report suggests that Cincinnati is serious about making the potential move. Marshall fits the profile for a franchise that loves to give players second, third, and even fourth chances, and the Bengals' No. 21 overall draft choice would likely be enough to consummate a trade.
I would hate to see the bengals get any good reciever... This division is getting a lot tougher. No need for the Bungles to muck it up even more for the Steelers.
While Antonio Bryant is still inside One Paul Brown Stadium, Terrell Owens’ visit to the Bengals will not happen until tomorrow.
Owens is scheduled to arrive in Cincinnati tonight and will visit with the team tomorrow. Bryant though is still believed to be the first choice.
During an interview earlier today with The Enquirer’s John Kiesewetter, Chad Ochocinco was asked if there was room for both Bryant and Owens in Cincinnati.
“Why wouldn’t there be? I think this is the year of no salarly cap, if I’m correct. Hey, why wouldn’t there be?,” said Ochocinco, who was also talking about his upcoming appearance on Dancing With The Stars. “Let’s load it up, you know! We can get back to that firepower offense we were back in ‘05 and ‘06, when we were throwing it all over the place. Even though that’s not the makeup of our team right now, I think it can help. Period.”
However when asked if he had to choose which one, Ochocinco said: “I mean, it’s whatever. Both of them can help us.”
Bryant is also scheduled to have a visit with the Washington Redskins later this week.
Apparently the Bengals are close to signing Bryant. Do they have absolutely zero interest in signing high character** players? This guy is a head case, almost 30, has been hampered by injuries, and has had literally 1 good season in the NFL.
High risk high reward I suppose and he'll help them out if he can stay on the field but I honestly think TO would have been a better fit, LOL.

Honestly, though, I'd prefer him over T.O or Brandon Marshall. We cut Coles, one reason being because he couldn't hold onto the ball. T.O doesn't improve that issue. As for Marshall, he's talented, but a complete dickhead. Maybe Marv and company feel like they could add another reclaimation project to the team, but you keep going that way, and sooner or later, you are gonna get burned.
