Default I'm sorry but this is the best scoring performance in NBA history

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UTust5oFW4

No three point line, playing against Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe, 2 BS foul calls at the end which should have been an easy 5 points which also took him out with over a minute left and add in an exceptional shooting percentage. BTW Kobe's is second. Wilts 100 was overrated. It was like Shaq playing against high schoolers.

Pistol let it fly from deep all day. If they had a 3 point line, he would have averaged 13 3 pointers made a game.

I've made this exact thread twice. This performance is easily better than Kobe's.

I'm not really bashing him, I just honestly think it was a much better performance. And it was. It might be the best ever.

Yep Wilt's 100 and Kobe's 81 are way overrated

Wilt's can't really be considered because we've only got a box-score. You can't objectively look at both performances and say Kobe's was better than Pistol's. That's just absolutele blind homerism.

It was against two of the best defenders of their time, with no three point line and I think he only tool like 7 total free throws.

Both Frazier and Monroe were in their final days (actually Frazier I believe was in Cleveland at the time.)

Do you have an actual reason why you think this game is better? It's not like he even scored a higher percent of his team's points than Wilt or Kobe did.

Also leaving the game early doesn't really mean anything. Kobe left the 81 point game with a few minutes left and I don't even think the rest of Wilt's game was played out once he hit 100.

True, but I'd take an aging Frazier over the entire "defense" of Toronto.

The first one, with Doc Brown.

Well. If you go only by points. Then I think Wilt's 100 and Kobe's 81 beat it, but overall as a scoring performance if you take other things into account this could be better than kobe's.

On the other hand. I have Kobe's 62 in 3 quarters rated over Kobe's 81 against Toronto. He outscored a team in 3 quarters, and not just a any team, but the team that would finish the season with the best record in the league, and he did this not to just score a lot of points but to lead his team to a convincing victory, and then he sat out the entire 4th quarter, so... I have that rated as a better individual performance than kobe's 81, and I could probably take Pete's 68 over Kobe's 81 as well.

Are you asking if I own a time-machine? No, I do not.

Can we get back to the thread, or are you going to keep making references to 80's movies?
