This whole thing is retarded.....I mean, mentally challenged. There's no rhyme or reason anymore to these things.....yet Delonte West hasn't served even one game.

i don't think anybody should be surprised by that suspension length.I will be slightly surprised if the Wizards are allowed to void the contract.

arenas asked to be suspended for the year so i don't get this "too harsh" crap. plus if i brought guns into my work i would be fired and never allowed to come back- not just suspended for a year.

In an odd subplot, Lee's source also indicated that Arenas requested to be suspended for the remainder of the year.

soooo... how was it too harsh?

hows that? depending on his felony conviction, they will have every right to try and void his contract.

Honestly, its not enough. I think Arenas should be suspended for at least 3 seasons. And even then, I don't think it'll get the message.

Also, Gilbert should have to visit every arena and apologize in person to the fans. He should go on Oprah, Ellen, Leno, Letterman, Stern, and at least 20 other talk shows asking for forgiveness and being honest and open. Tears are mandatory.

Of course, 2 years of jailtime, mandatory community service 5 years after, and forfeiture and voidance of his current contract. Gilbert will also have to donate 90% of all future salary to inner city causes.

Once this is all done, maybe....just maybe....the process of getting Gilbert back to a normal life can begin. But even then it'll never be the same.........

In other news, Obama has decided to continue the "War on Terror" by ordering more troops to Afghanistan. Casualty numbers to be released in the future......he's doing the lords work. god bless him.

It's not even a matter of "try". It's a matter of if they want to do it or not. A felony conviction is a felony conviction, and for pulling a gun on a teammate? They should void it.

While suspended, he is losing the same percentage of his salary that an Avg Joe would lose if he had done this. If his contract gets voided, then he will lose the same percentage in the long run as well.
