screw that i'd try and kill Gilbert if i were jarvaris. none of this would have ever happened to either of them if gilbert wasn't such an idiot. between not paying up on gambling, and then the gun joke he tried to play, this whole thing is more or less on gilbert.
jarvaris is the one people should be feeling sorry for, not Gilbert. he's already a millionaire, still worth millions, even if he loses out on the rest of the year. its pretty obvious he has more money than he knows what to do with. maybe this brings him down to reality for a little bit. i doubt it tho. its pretty messed up how a lot of this hurts the Wizards more than Gilbert even if Gilbert is the one that f'd up.
I think you are misinterpreting things. GA asked Stern whether or not his contract was going to be voided, and Stern said that it was up to the team. GA was not asking Stern to void his contract.
As far as Gilbert thinkin about leaving the Wizards? I want to say he isnt that stupid. But given past actions and how he comes across as a guy who does the odd ball thing? Wouldnt shock me. But I still cant see family, friends, agent welcoming it.
But if Gilbert were to (for fun now) allow Wash to void his deal becoming a free agent in 2010 offseason. What teams would sign him and for how much? He could be one of those consolation prizes where a team misses out on Wade but he is the next best thing. Get an Elton Brand like deal no?

You know, I honestly respect Arenas having the guts to want them to void his contract over his beef with Grunfeld. Having said that, if he does this, he's not going to see anywhere near that money unless some team like NY gets real desperate after losing the LBJ sweepstakes. Because he's pretty much proven that he's not worth it. That's a decision he might just regret...you don't come across 80 million dollars every day.

GA is the equivalent of Terrell Owens right now. He is not going to get anything except for year to year contracts. Based on his injury history, off court crap, and the economy, he won't get more than $5-6 mil per season, if that.

the piddly amount of money he makes, and getting a job next year and from that point on? ask yourself which one of these guys is set for life, and which one might be selling insurance in the near future? you all act like gilbert is hurt so much by losing 10 mill when he is worth way more than that, and has already made that easy. read about gilbert, he doesn't care about money, he blows thousands just to play practical jokes.
