Default How well does Kirk Hinrich fit into the Lakers system?

Kirk is a good defender and passer, but his shooting isn't great, about the same as Fisher and Farmar. How well would he fit into the Triangle? I'd rather have someone who can also shoot well. What do you guys think?

FYI: The Lakers are in serious discussions to trade Morrison and Vujacic for Hinrich. Now that Chicago got Brown, Hinrich will certainly be traded, to which team is uncertain but the Lakers are in the running:

As a Cavs fan I loved that Mo could score 20 -25 on u when fish played. Not goin to happen VS Hinrich. He is a perfect fit for you guys. And he is big enough to gaurd smaller 2 (Ellis, Wade, OJ, ect) so Kobe could worry more about offence during the first 3 quarters.

He would fit fine. Prototypical triangle point guard. Has range on his shot, can defend, and is bigger than most points. Contract is not bad, one of the few that actually go down over time (David West is another one). He can also slide to the 2 and is a very high IQ player

I don't mean to rag on you... but it's pretty clear you pretty much only watch the Lakers. I'm guessing you went and looked at Hinrich's stats and suddenly weren't impressed so much. I mean normally I shouldn't even be bringing that up, but you are one of the more annoying Lakers fans who's just annoyingly biased only to your team.

Anyway, short answer: Hinrich will fit into the Lakers system very well.

Very very very well. I don't know how many good players LA needs given to them. Artest, and Pau were plenty.

Yea yesterday I posted that some rumor was flying around about KH.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/sho...=161714&page=2

Besides him bring ing the ball up the floor , alittle pentration , the dude plays 'D" which the Lakers need for a PG , cause Kobe periodically gets deep in the lane on defense .... someone has to cover fast breaks , outlet passes etc..
His contract is a bit stiff , but Lakers have the goods.

If this happens I'd say KH starts.

KH seems like he fits into the triangle perfectly.

He'd be fine. If Hinrich's traded to the Lakers, it's not like he'd have to put up 15/8 in order for it to be a good trade. If he scores 8 points on 40% shooting and plays good defense he's a massive upgrade over Fisher.

How will LA get a good player like Hinrich for garbage like Morrison and Vujacic? Some more of that LA "Gasol trade" magic?

Money. Why the hell would they take Vujacic? Wouldn't they rather have Jordan Farmar?

I still think Memphis got a good deal for Pau. They wanted cap relief. They also got a very good young center in return (Marc). Now they have a front line of Randolph and Marc Gasol and have a very nice young team thanks to that trade. Chicago could do the same thing. They could get some cap relief with this trade. They still want to trade Salmons and Thomas too. They will have a ton of cap space to sign a big time FA and get some talent back in the other trade too. They could potentially turn things around quickly.

Hinrich's perfect. He's intense, can guard all three perimeter positions, and has a high basketball iq. His weaknesses are that he's not a great shooter and that he fouls too much, but the fouls aren't a big deal with Brown and Farmar behind him and he's still as good a shooter as Fisher is.

The other guy LA should look into getting is Randy Foye, who's an equally good fit.
