Talking Re: How did Shaun Alexander make the All-Decade Team?

I'm glad Dante Hall got some recognition.

My favorite player ever.

Weird thing to say given all he did was return kicks.

That doesn't make much sense either. You can put that much stock into team stats, and besides, Jason Taylor is also on that list. Thomas played on 7 top 10 defenses and Fletcher played on 6. Fletcher played for a top 10 defense on 3 different teams. I think Peter King got it right by putting Fletcher on his All-Decade team.

Jamal was a big part of the Ravens offense and Clinton Portis benefitting from Denvers "OL" are 2 things that may have played a part. Only things i can think of. i'm taking Portis over Jamal Lewis myself without hesistation. Jamal did rush for over 2000yds. Add that to the list of reasons why. Eh

Portis only played in Denver for 2 seasons. The only thing I can think is that Lewis has been more durable, and played from '00-'09 while Portis has been less durable and only played from '02-09. Lewis did go over 2,000 yards but that was due to 2 huge games against the Browns combining for 500 rushing yards in those 2 games.

Returning kicks are extremely important and he was a running back at Texas A&M and played a little wide receiver in the NFL.

He was exciting and wowed me. Had his jersey and everything. Plus, we have the same birthday and he was a BEAST on NFL Street 2.

Faulk wasn't picked because he started in the mid '90s and left in the mid '00s.

I truely believe that DeMarcus Ware will go on to be the greatest OLB to ever play in the NFL...greater than LT

that being said, DeMarcus Ware does not belong on that list...there are several other LBs more deserving...

hate to admitt to that...

Lawerence Taylor:

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 237 lbs

sacks first 5 years:

1981* 0 (didn't record sacks unfortunatly)
1982* 7.5
1983* 9.0
1984* 11.5
1985* 13.0

career sacks: 132.5

DeMarcus Ware:

Height: 6'4"
Weight: 262 lbs

sacks first 5 years:

2005 8.0
2006* 11.5
2007* 14.0
2008* 20.0
2009* 11.0

career sacks: 64.5

tackles were not recorded either in Taylor's day unfortunatly...

Ware is physically superior...and looks to be on pace to beat him in sacks, but the NFL didn't record sacks Taylor's rookie year...

If Ware stays healthy the rest of his career then he should go down as the greatest OLB ever...

right now due to the big size difference, I would take Ware over Taylor...call me a homer all you want, but Ware is just ridiculously huge...AND FAST...rumor has it that he ran a 4.4 in college...not sure if it is true though...
