The whole having to know french thing is bull... everyone speaks english unless u move to Ile-Bizzard.... which u wont, cuz u cant afford it
but if there's any reason u shouldnt move to Montreal is cuz of the lack of ball games on tv... recently the score's been playing all the games and thats not on cable here...
macmac, you live in montreal?? how are the high schools like? are there certain schools where you just speak english for all the classes, and you only need one french credit??
My brother has live din Montreal for years and while he knows French, he told me he barely needs to use it at all, that why I said what I did early in the thread. Isn't 30% of Montreal Anglophone? that's a pretty big minority, I wouldn't worry about it. Plus French is easy anyway, almost everyone around here knows it
Diggs and I. We from Ottawa (taking all your money to the bank). If you ever go down the strip down Elgin Street. You'll find plenty of bars; all kinds from trendy scenes to grunge scenes. And after hour clubs (that ones around the way, actually...there one down York St.). Very cool city.
Oh and Elgin is very safe...the beat cops are right around the corner (literaly, that's where there office is). But that never stops the late night revelers, from getting into drunken fist-fights and beer-bottle smashed domes.
I was thinking Toronto or Montreal. Toronto is expencive and I don't speak french so Montreal could be difficult.
******
no it is not so. i live in mtl. you don't need much french to live on the island. around off the island though it is mostly french. a lot of americans & internations come to school here & they seem to do just fine.
You guys ever watch Degrassi? That shows awesome. I've been watching it for years. I've seen all the girls grow up and transform from cute little girls to bodacious young women. Manny and Emma are hooooottttt. I'd smash.
