Default 1st Time All Stars This Year

Who will this years 1st time all stars be? Here are some names to consider

James Harden - 26/5apg

Brook Lopez - 19/7rpg

Josh Smith - 17/8rpg

Stephen Curry - 20/7apg

Kyrie Irving - 23/6apg

Anderson Varejao - 14/14rpg

Damian Lillard - 18/6apg

Monta Ellis - 19/6apg

Rudy Gay - 18/6rpg

Al Jefferson - 17/10rpg

IMO Harden is a lock to be an all star this year. Any others?

Edit: Added Curry

With CP3, Parker and Curry I don't think Lillard will make it. Maybe next year or as an injury replacement if something happens to one of those three can play.

From the people you listed the first 3 should make it. I think everyone will agree with Harden.

Lopez is 5th in PER, highest scoring center, averaging the most PIP per game. Doing a good job of protecting the paint blocking more shots and brought his rebounding total to a respectable total.

Josh Smith should have made it last year but its finally his turn. If he doesn't make it this year then the coaches in this league seriously hate the guy.

I think Irving and Harden are locks and maybe Josh Smith, due to his team success. Varejao probably deserves the call as well, but he's gonna be snubbed cause you can't have 2 All Stars from the Cavaliers.

I know Irving's stats are good but I just wonder if he gets the nod for all star because he is playing in a team with the 2nd worst record in the East. His stats are probably inflated for this same reason.

I think Monta may have a chance this year. The Bucks are playing well and could make the playoffs. Who are the guards this year in te East?

Rondo and Wade are most likely starting. Then you have

Irving, Johnson, Monta and D-Will. Wall and Rose have no chance due to injuries so I guess Monta has a big chance this year.

Noah might get voted in by the coaches. And he has been the catalyst for the Bulls and keeping them over .500 and as a constant 4/5 seed.

How would that inflate his stats? He doesn't shoot at a high percentage cause his teammates suck. He gets less assists cause his teammates suck.

the only reason I said his stats may be inflated is because historically there have been many players putting up good scoring numbers on bad teams and once they go to a good team with other quality players their numbers drop. Which is why I feel someone putting up 17-18ppg on a contender is better than 20-25ppg as the primary scorer on a lottery team. but this is just my opinion.

George Hill considering Indiana's record and how weak the East's guards are. Lately I've even been voting him as a starter.

Forgot to mention the 29 minutes per game and anchoring one of the most dominant benches the NBA has seen in a long time. Also you're not the most basketball savvy guy as we've established before but it's faulty to solo out field goal percentage for players taking a ton of 3's. He has a TS% of 55 which is very good for a SG who shoots quite a bit.

His defense is pretty solid this year, although not good. Besides if the Clippers have a 1 or 2 seed going into all star weekend he has a shot.
