i'M GONNA TRY OUT FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBAL TEAM, I'M 5'10" AND i CAN SHOOT OKAY AND I CAN DRIBBLE WITHOUT LOOKING, THE ONLY THING IS I CAN'T DO ANY OF THOSE DEFEDNING TREICKS I SEE PEOPLE DO, THROUGH THE LEGS, ETC, WHAT DO U THINK MY CHANCES ARE OF MAKING IT, ESPECIALLY SINCE I'VE NEVER TRIED OUT AND I'M REALLY NO THAT GOOD.

HOW CANI PREPARE, BY THE WAY, THE TEAM'S STAR SHOOTING GUARD ISN'T COMING BACK THIS YEAR AND THEY really suck, THEIR OVERALL RECORD IS 8-15, DO U THINK IF I SHOW I'M A DEDICATED TEAM PLAYER, I COULD MAKE IT, REALLY NERVOUS CUZ SOMEONE a A LOT taller than me didn't make itlast year and they told him he should tried out before, by the way i'm a senior so i think that decreases my chances

Prepare by practicing...be very aggressive during tryouts (diving, lots of hustling and quickness) and the coach (might) love you, if you happen to also have some skills.

wut if when i'm dribbling i lose control of the bal, won't that automatically count against me, by the way since i'ma senior i guess i'd HAVE to make varsity, right?

I can dribble without looking and I don't even play basketball. That's not really something coaches look for as a plus. Now, if you're team really does suck then you should make it. From your description, you'd make it as a 12th man to go out and either finish a blowout or get beaten down more.

defensive tricks?? how would anybody on here possibly know if you are gonna make the team?? we have no idea what school you go to or the talent level there. as far as dribbling without looking.....thats not a plus.......its a prerequisite! visited this blind school once and they have a team, there is a buzzer that goes off under the basket to guide them...maybe its an option?
i wonder if they can still use a buzzer for the scoreboard? if so they probably spend alot on new bulbs......take that for what you want, just puttin it out there

When i was play jr. mini (ages 7-9) my coach was very impressed that i could dribble without looking.
