Why would Detroit want an $11 million second-to-third tier center? Even if we let it expire by not playing him 30 minutes a game, it does no good. Even if we traded Tayshaun and Rip for Tmac's $22 million expiring deal, we would only have $5-8 million to play with this summer. Not exactly a lot to replace two all-star capable players with.
dampier is not even healthy. Butler is a SF , Rip is a SG/PG.
They have already stated that Butler will start at the 2. Rip would not benefit the Mavericks and it would be rediculous for the Mavs to trade for him. Yes Dampier is hurt but that is not reason enough to trade him. of the top of my head, he is probably the best backup center in the league when healthy, AND has and expiring contract.

Your sure are a high off crack dumbass. This is exactly why. Me being a Detroit fan since 2002 I ****ing can assure you that Rip Hamilton has never played a half of minute at PG for one, Also, Why would we want Dampier? We Got Ben Wallace, We Got CV31, and hell he is always hurt. We are not trying to blow rips contract. We like him very much as a Pistons and he likes it here also even though we are losing alot of games. So please next time dont post ridiculous stuff to try and help out your favorite team.

90% pistons fans want to Rip gone for expirings. you must belong in the other 10% that are mentally challenged.
Why would Dallas want Rip Hamilton when they just got Caron Butler and have Terry as the sixth man.
Dampier>>> Kwame Brown.
TERRIBLE TRADE

NO DEAL
sums it up perfectly.
besides, Dallas is saving Damps fat contract for this summer to trade with. That has been the plan the entire year. It blows my mind that people can't wrap their skulls around this.
No, We want Tayshaun out. He is half assing every single play.
no, tayshuan will be an expiring next season which can get us something nice if we wait till next season. Rip has one of the worst contract in sports, that's why it's more important to get rid of that.

Only an idiot would want to trade away Rip for expiring contracts. If we trade Tayshaun's $11 million and Rip's $12 million contracts to Houston for T-Mac's $22 million expiring contract, we will have, depending on the salary cap, $10-12 million in cap space. We will need to resign Bynum and possibly Ben, so knock that down to $8 million. We will also need to sign a lottery pick. So knock off another $1.5 to $4.2 million. AT BEST, we will have roughly $6 million to spend. So we would have traded away our two best trade chips (and likely our two best players) for the equivalent of the MLE.
You had it backward. 90% of Pistons fans are mentally challenged. I belong to the other 10% who have common sense. Obviously you do not.
