Default What would you guys think about this trade idea?

Kenny Thomas for Skinner and Chris Mccray(undrafted scrub needed so it works financially). It probably wouldn't happen but it'd be good because:

SAR and Miller could start. We get an actual shotblocker/defender and Skinner is also a good lockerroom guy. We get an actual back up center and it makes time for Corliss.

I think out of the 3 guys from the Philly trade, we traded the wrong one.

edit: and Skinner's contract expires this coming year, Kenny's doesn't expire for 4...

With the way he's playing, no team would want him. Hopefully he can maintain a decent level of play over a month period to persuade some GM, because long term, he's holding the Kings back. I would trade Thomas for about anyone right now.

I would like the kings to go after a star big man. We have SAR, who has been very good his entire career, but he is past his prime IMO, and we desperately need a defensive presence in the post aka a good backup center or PF. I have seen some good things from Bynum in LA, and he is only 18 and can develop even further. I don't think the Lakers would part with him, even when Mihm and Brown return.

^^^^ so you're basically saying that if a guy is 30 years old he should be benched??? cmon he was drafted 3rd overall pick in the 1996 draft.
Cmon man Cassel as in his prime 8 - 9 years ago and hey he is still starting and he is still killing it...
Reef was drafted from the 1996 draft.... With allen, iverson nash.... theyre still starters??? Reef should BECOME the starter SO he can become an all star one more time IMO..... his stats are nice man... i would like him to start so he can show his true colours...... he has atleast 8 years left in him...
Imagine for 8 seasons.... he gets 1000+ points 2 all star appearences 600+ boards.... he'll have like 22000+ 9000+ boards BEAUTIFUL BUT IT WONT HAPPEN...... He'll just be benched....
His stats will be more like 17000+ points 7000+ boards

If Phoenix starts to slip and D'antoni and Amare really start to feud do you think we could possibly make a run at Amare? We got expirings, young guys, picks, reef, and some other stuff that could be packaged in a trade. I don't think Amare will ever be the 26/9 guy he was with 4+ dunks a game but I think he'll still be able to get like 20/10 with 1-2 nice dunks.

Amare would be a lesser version of Webber, with a huge contract. Big risk, little reward. And there's no way we'll be able to keep Bibby, Artest, and Martin down the road.

I feel so-so bout the trade idea, but I like to believe that the kings probably will make a move at a starter rather than a bench player because the kings have so many expiring contracts, big men, and younger guys

I didn't say that. You're putting words in my mouth. What I said was that he's getting older and we need a young defensive presence in the post, wheather that be a PF or a C, we need one, especially with the good post players in the league today. It's not just a west coast thing, now the east is starting to rise again, and we need to keep up with it, not ignore it. SAR is good, but we need a young guy we can stick with and can make a big impact on D.

No. He aint that good and I don't think he ever will be. I'd rather have Kenyon Martin/Rasheed Wallace/anybody. Kings need someone who is going to make them a contender IMO. They're a shotblocker away.

Both etan thomas and gadzuric have fat long contracts, right?

They aren't worth it. The Kings need a big time post player like Gooden, Martin, Randoplh, Boozer, etc.
