Ok show me your master degree in those topics above. Otherwise, GTFO.

The only thing you mastered in is Forestry kid. Stop trying to make it more than that.

Do you understand? You go for the research. You identify an advisor doing stuff you dig and that could be in a variety of departments. For example, my PhD applications were for Botany, Biology, and Ecology. If my advisor was in textile merchandising I'd be there.

But that's besides the point. Tell me what jobs you've had, what degrees you have. Don't even post proof, just tell me.

I specifically noted that creativity wasn't a characteristic limited to artists.

But you are a perfect example of what I mean. Your scope of understanding is very limited, so you basically just have to try to memorize what other people have conceptualized, and then demonstrate your memorization to someone else so they'll hire you.

Are you being serious right now?

I'm not TALKING bout what you have research in, what classes you took, or any of that. I'm talking about what your DEGREE is. It's masters in FORESTRY. Do you understand that? Not in Biology or Botany. Forestry.

I don't care what your research was in. Or what classes you took. Or what applications were of whatever you did. Okay?

You have no idea what my background is asshole.

Dismissing education is a pretty stupid thing to do. I really hope people who are reading your posts aren't taking them seriously.

Yeah you don't understand how it works. That's cool. If you ever graduate and consider getting an advanced degree I guess you'll find out.

He later wrote that the spirit of learning and creative thought were lost in strict rote learning. In the spring of 1895, he withdrew to join his family in Pavia, convincing the school to let him go by using a doctor’s note.

Have you ever studied any of these topics? To learn the fundamental building blocks of Brownian motion requires literally thousands of hours learning over many years. You can't tell me I'm wrong, because I have studied it - trust me, it's quite hard.

Please stop dismissing education.

I understand how it works.

I understand you take classes from other fields. I understand you work with others in different fields. I understand you do research in different fields. I understand you study other fields.

Is there anything else?

What you do NOT understand is you are still getting masters in Forestry, and none of these other fields. That's the fact. Now, do YOU understand that?

Yeah, and that's my point.

The people who LEARNED about it all had to go to school for it.

The guy who CREATED it was a drop out.

School is for those whose route to success requires memory and imitation. Look at the pattern amonst those I mentioned as examples of uber-successful dropouts. Mark Cuban, Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Tommy Hilfiger. They all CREATED stuff that nobody had created. They weren't "taught" the things that made them successful.

And your simplistic translation to my point about creativity is to assume something about bohemian artists. Maybe that's why you're a school-boy. You're strictly a within-the-box thinker.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Einstein didn't CREATE (more correctly CONSTRUCT) Brownian motion. He developed ideas upon the theory of it. To do this he would have had to LEARN (not CREATE) literally thousands of pages of mathematics over many many years.

He spent four years at a university studying mathematics and physics. It took him another five years to get his doctorate. He was a highly learned man, gaining understanding from others as is the case with 99.99999% of science.

You can't learn the theory of continuous time stochastic processes from the streets. Again, please stop.

So if you think your intelligent is unparralled and think you are the next Einstein, Gates, etc. Dropping out is definately a felicitous choice. However, the rest of us 99.9% of the population, higher education is the more approriate choice.
